A Major Recording Milestone at UNLV 🎶 From April 6–12, the UNLV Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Thomas G. Leslie, completed a major recording project in collaboration with Parma Recordings, continuing a successful partnership as the ensemble works toward its 25th commercial album release. The project featured a dynamic and contemporary program, including works by Michael-Thomas Foumai, Giancarlo D’Addona, and Jorge Machain, showcasing diverse musical voices and cultural influences. The recording also brought together world-class guest artists, including Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Eric Marienthal, alongside renowned performers José Sibaja and Domingo Pagliuca, and an elite rhythm section featuring Bernie Dresel, Kevin Axt, and Mitch Forman. During the sessions, Isrea L. Butler, Director of the UNLV School of Music, stopped by to greet the ensemble and connect with the guest artists. This project brought together innovative repertoire, exceptional performers, and a premier production team, further solidifying the UNLV Wind Orchestra’s reputation as a leader in wind band performance and recording. What a week! Amazing days at #NDSU where we got to premier @kevindaymusic “Centerstage” with NDSU Wind Ensemble under Maestro Daniel Lee. Also we had the privilege of having @allenvizzutti with us.
