This shoot was up my alley because it was a mix of controlled interviews, controlled B-Roll and true documentary shooting on the construction sites. I enjoy finding the cinematic in these real places.
I’m so stoked to share this Colorado Tourism spot that I shot this summer. It was one of my favorite projects of the year.
@andrea_wing came up with some really fun shot ideas and we created a great visual style together.
We had to move quickly on this one with so many locations but got it all done thanks to an amazing crew.
So thankful to my small but mighty G&E team @billy_gunn_728 and @tongkatt . Cheshire, thanks for getting into a pool at 5am with me and building some sweet rigs on this one.
@meems_mk did some magic tricks with these amazing locations.
The whole crew hoofed it up North Table Mountain to get the epic opening shot, @yang.mandrew did it twice 😉 . And personally, I think it was worth it 🌄

This weekend @badpressfilm started its US streaming Premiere on @criterioncollection and it’s blowing my mind 🤯.
I’ve been nerding out on discs from Criterion since college. It’s a surreal feeling to have a film I made in such good company. I’m so happy this film will have another life on such an amazingly curated service. And a whole new group of viewers will get the double bird from @angelcusses 🖕🏽

This one was a long time ago but is the closest thing I’ve ever shot to a horror film. And it’s still one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever done.
It was a short film directed by @weirddick when we worked at Machinima. It’s based on the top down shooter Hotline Miami.
Definitely would do some things differently but still some super fun Camera moves and lighting.

In honor of getting closer to spooky season I’m posting some of my favorite scream faces in this Xfinity spot. The script was so funny that this was a dream to shoot. We built the look both on the horror elements but the shot selection was mostly to enhance comedy.

I am going through the archives and highlighting some past work.
Throwing back to this shoot for Vogue x Saks Fifth Avenue with Pom Klementieff. Bridey's script called for a "fairy-tale" look so we went with a lot of blues and pinks. It was cool working with Felicia on the stop-motion. We had to work simultaneously to hit the timeline so we built another shoe closet in a different room! It was a whirlwind, but I think they turned out really fun.
