Doy Kim is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting and installation. She builds layered virtual worlds that examine how humans reshape nature through artificial systems, while reflecting on contemporary issues such as the environmental crisis and the complex relationship between North and South Korea.
Her work begins from personal experiences of loss and anxiety, transforming fear into speculative environments where threats are displaced into new forms and structures.
She develops hybrid ecosystems composed of industrial materials, extinct species, and fabricated life forms, creating landscapes that feel familiar yet slightly dislocated—revealing the unstable boundary between the natural and the artificial.
Her major solo exhibitions include [Eingang] (2023, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, DE) and a Seedling (2021, Daegu Art Factory, KR).
