📍Double Crispy Bakery - Chinatown, Manhattan If you know me, you know how much I love 蛋挞🤩 I just learned about @doublecrispybakery in Chinatown and knew I had to check them out. They have a huge selection of pastries, but I only came for one thing and one thing only - the egg tarts. I got the traditional style egg tarts, but they do also sell Macau-style. These were absolutely perfect! Zero complaints…only that I wish I had gotten more 🥲 The custard was delicate and silky, sweetness was just right, and it was served warm. Can’t wait to try some of their other pastries when I go back! #nyceats #dessert #newyork #chinatown #cheapeats

Come say hello on Tuesday, February 17th 🧧 Yo, Chinatown bakeries like @doublecrispybakery aren’t just places to grab buns and bounce. They’re community anchors. Aunties and uncles clock in early. Elders pull up for milk tea and pastries like it’s ritual. During Lunar New Year, food isn’t random. It symbolizes luck, wealth, togetherness. That’s the culture we’re highlighting. When @flightclub reached out to film a Friends & Family segment that happened to land on Lunar New Year, we decided that instead of just filming, we’d show love properly…by buying pastries from Double Crispy Bakery, featuring them on @righteouseats , and sharing that love with the community at Flight Club NYC. Simple, intentional, everybody wins 🤜🏼🤛🏼 Peep the details: • Tuesday, February 17th on Lunar New Year 🐎🔥 • 5:30 p.m. 🕠 • Flight Club NYC (812 Broadway) — 🚨Giveaway is HERE, NOT the bakery • First come, first served 🙋🏻‍♂️ • One bag per person ☝🏼 • 100 total bags 🛍️ • Each bag: 1 pineapple bun + peanut puffs + mini sesame balls • No allergy alternatives 🙇🏻‍♂️ • Posters + red envelopes 🧧 • 10 random envelopes = sneaker credit 👟 Pull up, say what’s up, and start the year sweet 🫡 Aight, peace and blessings 🙏🏼

Part 2 of my adventure visiting Double Crispy Bakery in Chinatown! I got a box of Macau-style (a variation of the Portuguese pastel de nada) and Hong Kong-style egg tarts! As someone who has had egg tarts in both Portugal (pastéis de nata) and in Hong Kong (蛋撻), I can’t bring myself to choose a favorite… We had friends visiting NYC for the weekend, so it was a perfect opportunity to grab food in Chinatown and then do an ~ egg tart taste test ~ with Double Crispy Bakery egg tarts! Watch ’til the end to see their verdicts! 🥚🥐🥚🥐🥚 Macau/Portuguese-style egg tarts have a a creamy custard filling with an uneven, caramelized, and browned top as they are baked on high-heat. Traditionally they are made using only egg yolks for the custard (Portguese monks actually made this treat as a way to repurpose egg yolks that were left over from using egg whites to starch their clothes!) The custard filling is held in a flaky, buttery crust. Hong Kong-style egg tarts use the whole egg which gives them a more uniform, silkier texture + color and a milky-egg flavor. It can have a crust that’s reminiscent of a pie crust. 📍Double Crispy Bakery - Chinatown Manhattan * Macau egg tarts ⭐️ * Hong Kong egg tarts ⭐️ . . #nycfood #nycfoodie #nycfoodies #nyceats #nycfoodblogger #shoplocal #chinatown #chinatowneats #nycchinatown #eggtarts #eggtart #foodexplorertribe

I visited Double Crispy Bakery in Chinatown, where I met Terence! (I also briefly got to meet his father, who bakes their shop’s products in the kitchen fresh each day, so he’s a busy man!) Terence wanted to share a bit about his family and shop. :) My mission? To buy egg tarts 😁 Follow for Part 2 where my friends and I eat Double Crispy egg tarts: Portuguese-style and Hong Kong-style. Whether you’re looking for egg tarts, moon cakes, a quick snack, or a cake, check out Double Crispy Bakery next time you’re in Chinatown! (and give Terence a hello!) 📍Double Crispy Bakery - Chinatown Manhattan . . . #nycfood #nycfoodie #nycfoodies #nyceats #nycfoodblogger #supportlocal #chinatown #chinatownnyc #chinesebakery #foodexplorertribe
