In the archipelagos of Arctic Norway, The Whale is taking shape. Its foundations, columns and beams are now in place, clearly revealing the building’s geometry on the waterfront of Andøya. With construction rapidly progressing, @thewhaleandoy is scheduled to open in the summer of 2027 in Andenes, a town in Northern Norway surrounded by vast mountain and ocean landscapes. We are honoured to share that Dorte Mandrup has been named recipient of the Rungstedlund Prize 2026. The Rungstedlund Foundation, established by Karen Blixen in 1958, awards the prize annually to a cultural figure who has made a significant contribution in one of the many subjects of interest for the late Danish author, or who has otherwise distinguished themselves in a way that reflects Blixen’s spirit. «Dorte Mandrup’s architecture always relates to nature – both in the context of a future building and as a phenomenon. Like Karen Blixen, Mandrup has understood that nature precedes all art. Mandrup’s groundbreaking architecture makes her an obvious recipient of the Rungstedlund Prize 2026,» says Michael Bjørn Nellemann, Chair of the Rungstedlund Foundation. We extend our thanks to the Rungstedlund Foundation, @karenblixenrungstedlund and the Municipality of Hørsholm for this recognition. Learn more via the link in bio. The Crafts College has been recognised at the Monocle Design Awards 2026. Selected as one of 25 winners celebrating the best of design and architecture, the college in Herning caught Monocle magazine’s eye as one of the year’s most beautiful buildings. Monocle visited the school earlier this year and spoke to students about their experience of living and learning at the Crafts College: «It’s really inspiring to live here. You want to work better when you see all of the skill that has been put into this building,» says Emilie Mølgaard, a 20-year-old apprentice machine carpenter. Thank you to Monocle, the college’s headmaster Flemming Moestrup, and to all the students who shared their experiences. Congratulations to the team: Fonden for Håndværkskollegier, BRFfonden, Kristine Jensen Landscape, @henninglarsenarchitects , Artelia Denmark, @fortheloveoflightcph and C.C. Contractor A/S. Anna Lindh Haus is currently under construction in Berlin’s emerging neighbourhood Europacity. One year ahead of completion, CA Immo’s multi-tenant office building has achieved full occupancy. As the first timber-hybrid building in the rapidly evolving district, the project brings together resilient design and a human-centred approach to the modern workplace. Together with AUKETT + HEESE, Buro Happold, RSP Remmel + Sattler, Ruß Ingenieure, Friedburg and HHVH, we look forward to seeing Anna Lindh Haus move towards completion. Centre for Health is featured in the latest issue of @detailmagazine , examining healthcare buildings and the ways thoughtful design can shape and support the healing process. In the feature, editor Julia Liese explores the centre, the ideas behind it, and its structure through a conversation with Kasper Pilemand, Partner and Head of Projects at Dorte Mandrup.   «It was clear to us right away that there should be no hospital atmosphere and no clinical, sterile surfaces. As essential design parameters, nature and light were much more important. The knowledge on how architecture for health is supposed to look like has been available for some time. We just need to apply it,» says Kasper Pilemand.    Read the full feature in DETAIL 4.2026, ‘Healthcare Buildings’ Photos: @adammork

Kangiata Illorsua, @ilulissat_isfjordscentret , tells the story of ice, of humankind and evolution on both a local and global scale and relates to the history of time – sitting lightly on the Greenlandic bedrock – the oldest one in the world. The centre is a public space - a gateway between the town of Ilulissat and the wilderness beyond. Photos: @adammork

Ifversen, recently visited the Crafts College and left a generous review on the front page of the culture section. The article examines the form, material choices and construction methods chosen to highlight the value of craft and to create a strong sense of belonging among the young apprentices.
