When I first started my business years ago, after a semester abroad from Yale University where I saw Venetian glass artisans as the foundations for their neighborhoods, my goal was to build community through jewelry. That focus remains.
Working with Neiman Marcus, my first retailer, encouraged me to believe that my voice, my mission and my aesthetic had a place in the world. Social impact and luxury could, in fact, go hand in hand.
When I reopened my company in Oakland, CA after the pandemic, it was to help women express their values and aspirations by designing fine jewelry that reflects the amazing people they are.
My first 18k and natural diamond collection was sponsored by the Natural Diamond Council, which offered the Emerging Designers Diamond Initiative to help to diversify the diamond industry. I was thrilled to be among 6 designers nationwide chosen for the first cohort, and am forever grateful for
@lorraineschwartz for setting that powerful initiative in motion.
Most recently, I was one of 13 designers selected worldwide to work with
@cuprian.co and the gifts of their mines: Paraiba, one of the world's rarest (and, I think, most beautiful) gems.
I’m proud to now be at the next stage of my journey: A David Yurman GEM Awards Finalist. Thank you to
@davidyurman and
@sybil_yurman for offering this incredible opportunity, and to the GEM Awards committee for selecting me as a finalist. A huge congratulations to my fellow finalists,
@zahnzfinejewelry @juleskim and
@lorrainewestjewelry . I admire your work, and revel in the fact that you’re not only lovely but also groundbreaking, kick ass women. I’m honored to stand beside you.
And to
@johnnynelsonjewelry a heartfelt YESSSSSSSS!!! for the win and congratulations for having your prodigious talents recognized by all. Can’t wait to celebrate you at the GEM Awards! 💗
