This Easter, make Kennington part of your London day out and join us at Doost & Amici for spring flavours, warm hospitality, and time properly spent around the table. From Good Friday 3 April to Easter Monday 6 April 2026, we will be serving our usual brunch until 12 noon, followed from 12.30pm by our specially prepared Easter Family Feast by pre-order, alongside a short seasonal a la carte menu.
At saal‑tahvil (the moment of the spring equinox, Friday, 20 March at 2:46 pm), when the earth tilts gently toward light, we remember that Norooz is not only a Persian celebration but a call to renewal for all humanity and all living beings.
From Chaharshanbe‑Suri (the Fire Festival before Nowruz), we leap over the flames to leave behind the tiredness of the old year and carry the fire’s courage, clarity, and warmth with us into the new one.
At the Haft‑Seen table (seven symbolic “S” items):
• sabzeh — sprouted greens for rebirth, • seeb — apple for beauty, • seer — garlic for health, • senjed — oleaster for love, • serkeh — vinegar for patience, • somaq — sumac for the colour of sunrise, • samanu — wheat for abundance
These ancient blessings belong not just to Persians but to anyone who hopes, heals, creates, protects, and dreams. They are prayers for humanity and for Mother Earth: for rivers, mountains, insects, trees, oceans, and every pulse of life.

As we approach Sizdeh‑be‑dar (the 13th day outdoors, returning the sabzeh to running water), may we release what cannot come with us, renew our bond with the natural world, and step into the year with quiet courage and open hearts.

Is Love really Blind?
Yesterday I got to do some filming with Love is Blind star Nicole and the wonderful Emmy from Get Dopa.
We talked about connection, being your ‘weirdest’ self, unmasking (and how the hell we do that!) as well as our experience of being ADHD in a world that doesn’t cater to that.
Nicole is still married to the partner she met on Love is Blind and the sheer compassion, love and acceptance they have of each other was clear in everything she shared.
Having spaces to be your truest self is imperative in your romantic partnerships, friendships and in your working life.
Nicole shared that her unmasking experience always started with feeling safe enough to do that and this is something I advocate heavily for in my spaces.
Get into space where people get you and you feel safe and you will thrive!
