📝 Stepping into Madchester from his home town of Bristol back in 1989, Barney Doodlebug has been an ‘unsung hero’ and crucial instigator in Manchester’s club and arts scenes since his arrival playing past, present, future eclectic Black music.
Meanwhile, his Hoochie Coochie sessions at Dry201 Bar launched the careers of Mr Scruff and Andy Votel whilst his Doodlebug ‘detonations’ (Manchester/London/Tokyo) at numerous clubs/unsanctioned spaces including the likes of The Hacienda and Hoxton Square’s Blue Note, have become folklore.
Since his 2014 arrival in Hulli, he has been a regular player at The Adelphi's Residents Association monthly with his inspirational eclectic 20 minute journeys.
Fukubukuro 福袋 translates as super luckybag in Japanese.
