YO YO YO! This @blncdbrkfst panel I’m on this Sunday at 4pm makes me thirsty! I’ll be “speaking like a professional” at The Hotel Utah. Both Saturday and Sunday our amazing and tireless friend @stefanaronsen is hosting the XXth annual balanced breakfast music summit. 2 days of panels and topics that any music person can learn from and rub elbows with the community (my favorite reason for this!) It’s gonna be me, Pamela Parker, Christopher McGrew, and Brian Gibbs! TOTAL ALLSTARS! We gonna talk about making records; from songwriting to the final master. ¡¡GEAR OF THE WEEK!! Neumann Gefell M70 small diaphragm capsule coupled with an MV692 microphone body. My favorite SDC in the locker. The sound is pure electric hi-fi with astounding articulation to capture every nuance of a drum hit, guitar string, or any source where you want to draw a fine line around the border of what you are recording. Detailed and open, these are my go-to drum overheads as well as acoustic guitar mic. Neumann Gefell mics flew under the radar for a bit and I was lucky enough to snatch a bunch of these puppies up b4 prices went up, up, up.
