People always ask me… What do you do as a music teacher on the Westside of Chicago? What kind of arts are you exposing these North Lawndale scholars to? How are they responding to genres other than what they’re used to?
Well we are pleased to present “The Wiz” at LEARN ROMANO BUTLER Campus. This coming Tuesday and Wednesday 12 noon and 5pm shows both days.
I get to work with some awesome individuals. These are some of the best instructors in the country. They are super dedicated to their craft. @dawnbless is directing @iam_jjoi and @___marilee this guy named @donbuster worked on music for this production. 😉
And what can I say about our FEARLESS LEADER Principal @sharanda1908 She brought the arts to RB in a major way almost 15 years ago. The Wiz was the very 1st production she put up years ago. As we re-introduce Spring Productions this year since COVID, she has been a huge resource and guiding hand in all that we do. She brought “BROADWAY TO NORTH LAWNDALE” ❤️💜
We also have the infamous @allthingsword.std Ms. Bless on set design and prop design. We also brought scholars in to help with choreography and set design. ❤️💜
