It’s peak Saturday night. Lasers, smoke, hazy dreams and perfectly tuned Funktion-One’s. Even the trees are buzzing. The forest knows. Knows that a Japanese techno sensei is secretly entering Varden at 02:30 in the cover of darkness. Doltz is a surprise, and not listed in the program. He comes in with an ambient, almost psychedelic sound. Then slowly layering of all the little sounds that circle around the main beat, letting tension build, balancing experimental and driving techno. There are no sudden drops, but periods of pulling back before reintroducing energy to the dance floor. Doltz took us with him into what felt like a wormhole. The beat held us steady, but everything around it was spinning, stretching, and folding in on itself. The reactions from the Monument family were as different as they were similar. Some were jumping, some were shaking, others were dancing pirouettes, moving slowly, or standing still. At times, it was like being inside a centrifuge or a washing machine. Not dizzy, but surrounded, as if the sound pressed against the body. His set was a physical experience: immersive, disorienting, yet weirdly grounding at the same time. New EP!! Doltz - Inception EP - Bitta - Bitta013 a1. Subsumption a2. Pressure Point b1. Ambai b2. Delphinium Nobu welcomes Japanese sound artist Doltz to his Bitta imprint. Doltz started his musical career in 1998 as a drummer in a hardcore punk band, and had a fateful encounter with DJ Nobu, who shares the same musical roots, when they were billed alongside each other at a party called ‘Broad’ in Fukuoka-city in the winter of 2022. Impressed by Doltz’s live performance, DJ Nobu immediately booked him for his residency party ‘reprise’ at Womb Tokyo. Set the stage for Doltz’s sensational debut in Tokyo. The two hit it off and began exchanging tracks, with DJ Nobu actively playing out Doltz’s tracks while touring across the world and receiving a good response. This first EP on Bitta consists of four of such tracks that were tested and proven. Doltz has already released several deeper techno and ambient works under the alias, but his encounter with DJ Nobu has allowed him to show his new potential on trippy and powerful tracks that are more dancefloor-oriented, and he has made rapid progress as an electronic music producer over the past year. A shifting signal emerges through the THIRD EYE: DOLTZ ⚡ Operating at the intersection of hypnotic techno, ambient drift and experimental sound, DOLTZ constructs immersive live environments where rhythm dissolves into texture and reforms into motion. His work avoids fixed structures, unfolding instead as a fluid dialogue between control and spontaneity. Inspired by electrical shimmer, landscapes, technology and visual art, he merges organic and synthetic elements into evolving soundscapes. Pulses and waveforms become expressive materials, shaped into atmospheric transmissions that blur the boundary between the physical and the abstract. Since beginning his live activity in 2023, DOLTZ has steadily built a presence defined by depth and intensity. A 2024 EP on Bitta marked an early milestone, followed by tours across Europe and the United States alongside DJ Nobu. As part of the extreme noise live unit Omega Point ] with Nobu, he explores a more unrestrained approach, moving beyond the limits of techno and conventional dance music. In March 2025, he extended this trajectory with Versus, a collaborative album with Tobias., released on vinyl through Delsin Records, bringing together precision and experimentation in equal measure. Still in motion, still unfolding, DOLTZ works within a space where sound feels transmitted rather than performed. Enter the signal.⚡️

Cat.No: 164DSR Building upon the striking elegance of their first collaboration, Tobias Freund and Shun Watanabe reunite as Tobias. Doltz. for another extended excursion into designer electronica with a warm, dubby glow at its centre. Their first album Versus arrived on Delsin in early 2025 as a result of a chance meeting at Eden Festival the year before. The spark of inspiration led quickly to a complete and coherent first body of work, and the same can be said for its prompt, equally inspired follow-up. Dealing in the gentle hum of digitally sculpted ambience and needlepoint micro-pulses, Freund and Watanabe evoke the experimental spirit and mellow immersion of golden-era clicks n’ cuts techno. While that early 00s phenomenon sometimes cracked around the edges of its DSP limitations, here a rich and porous sound world blooms out from the crisply defined structure of each track. At times the palette opens up to more organic sound matter, and there is ample space for full-bodied synths to ratchet down the rhythm, but a strong digital core of granular processing and exacting sound design form the bedrock of the album’s subtle, sublime sound. Even though its calm demeanour radiates an instant charm, like all great electronica Frontiers Of Science is an album of hidden depths to be absorbed steadily over subsequent trips
