While my main role was directing the team, it’s worth mentioning that this was a great example of how music/sound was integrated into experience design - I composed more than 3 hours of music/triggered audio to give the guests a different experience each time.
Big thanks to Kaohsiung City, AIC, the entire project team, as well as all the “DigiWavers” who participated in our mission to save the digital future. 👾 In fact, over 300,000 people attended the event in a 1-month span during Taiwan’s Design Expo!

I’ve slowly been confronting with bits of my past… like struggling with Selective Mutism until the age of 13. It felt like screaming with no sound coming out. I most likely needed speech therapy, but growing up in a Taiwanese immigrant family in Houston, TX, I was placed in ESL instead. Somewhere in the silence, though, I found my voice through music. 🎶
So it felt right that my first and only cover would be this one. 🔥
Brandi Carlile’s “The Joke” was introduced to me by Talya and Brandon Finn in the Ozarks, where I was traveling and was moved by how deeply we all connected across every walk of life. Because everyone has felt out of place at some point. Everyone.
I rearranged it in a gentle-but-strong, dolce way… and added a cello solo of course 😜 — leaning into the country guitar and strings I honed growing up in Texas, with a sprinkle of dreamy flair. Thank you not only to @brandicarlile , but Dave Cobb, @phil_hanseroth and @timhanseroth for writing such an enduring piece. This is my way of amplifying a song I truly believe people need to hear now more than ever.

Cool project I worked on with @nasajpl / @nasa - the Space Immersive Room at the EIC, a part of the Kennedy Space Center!
With this piece, we wanted to translate all the incredible new data about Earth into an emotional piece to make guests fall in love with our planet over and over again. It’s a stunning 7-minute experience, narrated by NASA astronauts Drew Feustel and Nicole Stott, telling a story of Earth as an interconnected world without boundaries. My 3rd time flying a drone… 🤓 I really had to capture this gorgeous town of Arbois: an incredibly unique place full of high-level artisans in the region of Jura, near the France-Switzerland border.
My favorite part was meeting all the locals - winemakers who create organic small batches picked by hand, gourmet chefs, luthiers, upholstery makers, cheese makers, blacksmiths, wood doctors, botanists, and even meeting the Mayor!
I also loved exploring the unique ecosystem of forest-mountain terrain that I could barely capture a glimpse of. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in that region. 🏔️
