We are hosting another tea gathering, raising funds for families in Gaza. Our afternoon tea this month will be outdoors and accompanied by live DJs! All are welcome: tea & music lovers/enthusiasts, casual tea drinkers, beginners etc. The only requirement is believing in Palestinian liberation. Come with an open mind and taste the diverse flavors, traditions, and rituals of various teas while connecting with others and sharing your own experiences. We’ll have 4-5 different brewing stations and you will be able to move from station to station freely, staying as little or as long as you want. We’ll be serving various types of tea from the camellia sinensis plant, ranging from Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Taiwanese to Japanese tea as well as tea snacks. We’ll be located in Monterey Hills/El Sereno and please note all teas will have caffeine. ——Fundraiser—— All net proceeds from this event will go to 3 families in Gaza. Our friend Nico (@treekyneeky ) taught in Gaza last summer and these are people she connected with while she was there. We have the power to at least make the financial aspect of this choice easier by contributing directly to her friends. Nico is still in contact with each of them and our donation can make a big impact on their ability to evacuate. For more details about the 3 funds we are contributing to and to see other aid requests, please check out Mutual Aid for Gaza: Through this event, we hope we can share a joyful experience together while helping these families get to safety. ——Reservations– $35 minimum donation to reserve a spot. We encourage those who can to donate more. Link in bio for more info on how to reserve a spot. Any questions? Dm @xoc.hi or me

A Summer Tea Tasting Beyond grateful for the opportunity to share this experience with everyone that came. Thank you for coming to this tea tasting with an open and curious mind to learn about tea, to choose this workshop as a gift to yourself after stressful week and as a way to share joyful moments with friends. Thank you @xoc.hi and @sivan_ss_ for creating this experience with me. I am so inspired by both your talents and love for tea and so much care putting in this workshop. Xochi spent 3 hours just to clean the banana leaves to make suman from scratch, designing tea menu with Japanese washi paper with our handwriting. Without Sivan, we wouldn't have such a detailed and well-put tea guide. For a month, all I did was making jelly cakes. Creating from love and purpose of bringing the best experience that I can, I challenged myself to learn new skills and strengthen ones that I already had. Thank you @tea__at__shiloh and @ahdom for creating the most magical tea houses. Thank you @fleur.boy for your generous support and sharing your gifts with us. Thank you @rashaunrichardson for being on this journey with me since day one with your unwavering love and care, for capture these moments. Love you all so much🤍

Tea Gathering – Day I Our intention for this event was to have fun in every process of tea — smelling, tasting, brewing, roasting, practicing, community and much more. Everyone was so open to try and learn various teas and sharing their own relationship with it. I hope we all left feeling a deeper connection with tea and each other. 📸 by @rashaunrichardson

There is nothing wrong with you. Your body hasn’t forgotten how to create, and your spark hasn’t gone anywhere. You are not missing anything. What you need right now is space, to slow down, to rest and to let things settle. You are allowed to follow your own pace. There is no requirement to have your life figured out just because it’s a new year. Don’t punish yourself for needing stillness. Trust your body. Your energy and clarity will return.

Today's tea: Red Oolong from @annaye.tea This oolong was produced on 33 hectare farm on the rolling Mộc Châu plateau, Sơn La, Việt Nam. Taste note: dried persimmon, freshly baked pastry, cinnamon with honey like finish. Growing up, my grandpa always had green tea or puerh ready, waiting on the table like an old friend. He would drink it alone in quiet contemplation, share it with me even when I found it bitter, or pour it for guests as the room filled with laughter. Tea was a language of family, a thread of belonging. When I moved to the States as a teenager, that language slipped into the background, replaced by coffee and the rush of a faster life. Then my body grew sick so I chose to quit coffee six years ago. That’s when tea returned to me. This time, not as a familiar custom of childhood, but as medicine. In every steeping leaf, I found a quiet teacher. A reminder to come back to my body. Now, tea is my daily practice. Each cup slows me down. Each sip grounds me in gratitude. Tea reconnects me to nature, to community, and to the essence of being alive. Tea is no longer just something I drink but a way of living. I'm excited to share more of my tea journey with you 🫖 Video by @rashaunrichardson 🤍

When the noise is too loud, I return to the quiet pulse beneath my skin. I don’t have to perform my pain or prove my worth through struggle. My body is my anchor a home where neutrality exists. I let go of urgency. I remember I am allowed to rest without earning it. Stillness becomes movement in disguise the breath deepens, the story softens, and the self begins to recalibrate. Even in silence, I am not lost. I am shifting, adapting. I draw from the wisdom of the life I’ve lived imperfect, but deeply mine. And that is enough. Healing isn’t always loud. It’s in the sun warming my skin, the breath that returns to me, the resilience that no one can take away. I give myself time to settle, to acknowledge, to be whole.
