Over these five years, @iomogallery has become a body of its own. Its walls have absorbed the stories of every exhibition while its floors have recorded the footsteps of a growing community.
This anniversary show is an invitation to read that record. It is an archive of the ‘body’ of the gallery, imbued with its history, while in parallel imagining a vision for its future.
IOMO gallery celebrates this milestone not as a destination, but as a confirmation of their direction.
‘Up and Down The Accelerator’, emerging from an open call, brings together works by seven young artists whose proposals on the theme of boundaries highlight the rapid pace of contemporary living and its effects on them, their surroundings, and our perception of personal, psychological, and large-scale limits.

The works spoke to us as they either clearly depict the chugging rhythms of today, institutional and economic forces, and alienation, or reveal the personal aftermath of the constant grind.
The exhibition acknowledges digitalisation, acceleration, artificiality, corruption, widespread depression, consumerism, and placelessness, together with the embodied consequences they generate within hypermodernity.
Rhythmic Stress at @sacbucharest investigates movement as both a material condition and a political force. Beginning at 4pm, artists Margherita Pevere & Marco Donnarumma, forming the artistic duo Fronte Vacuo, will discuss rhythm as a within bodies, spaces, and social structures.
Addressing themes of tension, endurance, and release, the talk will open a space for reflecting on how performative practices, choreography, and spatial interventions can articulate forms of resistance, adaptation, and collective presence. Contributors will share insights into their processes, inviting audiences to engage with rhythm not only as an aesthetic principle but as a lived, embodied negotiation of transformation.
