It’s a pleasure to present three new people at Dodo : Our new ESC volunteer : Hello! I’m Benjamin. I come from Toulouse, in the south of France. I have a master’s degree in Law. I worked a couple years as a jurist in Paris and now I’m focusing on living closer to nature and participating in community projects that bring people together. I started a 6 months ESC volunteering, during which I will do e.g. urban gardening, communication tasks and organisation of various events. I am excited to learn through action by taking care of an urban garden, especially starting from scratch after a cold winter. I enjoy working with plants, seeing seeds growing everyday and cooking with people. I want to use this opportunity here at Dodo to raise environmental awareness and to be more environmentally friendly. The challenge of creating more green spaces in big cities resonates with me! I look forward to being part of Dodo’s activities and projects to learn many things and share ideas as I believe all together we can make a difference to live in a more human and sustainable world! Feel free to come say hello during Dodo’s workshops or events 🍃 Two people doing work trial : Sophia Hi, I’m Sophia! I studied fine arts and love doing crafts and repairing stuff. I’ve been participating in community initiatives and activism related to ecology in Spain, and urban gardens became an essential part of my daily life. Now in Helsinki, I believe being part of Dodo will allow my interest in hybridity between natural and urban areas develop into actions. Aidan I am a new intern for Dodo and I am here in order to acquire work experience. I am working to keep the facilities clean and to remove any garbage or redundant paperwork. I am also helping in the greenhouse and gardening areas. I am 19 and am from Scotland. I will be working at Dodo from Monday to Friday for four months. I speak primarily English and am not particularly fluent in Finnish.

Hei helsinkiläinen nuori! Mitä näyttäisi sinun unelmiesi tapahtuma? Tee unelmiesi tapahtumasta totta! Avoin haku Helsinki-päivänä toteutettavaan tapahtumaan on auki vielä viikon - toimi siis nyt! Ohjeet: 1. Kerää nuorten alle 29-vuotiaiden helsinkiläisten porukka. 2. Minkälaista tapahtumaa kaupunki teidän mielestä tarvitsee? Kehittäkää tapahtumaidea yhdessä! 3. Esitelkää idea rohkeasti ja lyhyesti meille Dodon biosta löytyvän lomakkeen kautta, 15.4. mennessä. Idea voi olla kokeileva, rohkea ja erilainen! 4. Yksi idea valitaan toteutettavaksi Helsinki-päivässä 12.6.2026. Jos ideanne valitaan, pääsette toteuttamaan oikeasti omannnäköisen yleisötapahtuman porukalla, Dodon tuottajan avustuksella touko-kesäkuun aikana. Dodo haluaa mahdollistaa aidosti nuorten näköisen tapahtuman, aidosti nuorten toteuttamana. Next Monday 13th of May we will gather for the last collective practice of the Spring of Radical rest and collective agency. There are still a few spots left in our last set. You are welcome to join, without a former participation in the evenings. You can come late and as you are. Previous times we have gathered around soup, talks about different forms of resting, drawing, practiced physical calming together and listened ambient music. The next session will be formed and facilitated through the wishes of the participants. Suuren suosion vuoksi järjestämme rinnakkaiskurssin Oma pyörä kuntoon-kurssille! Lisäkurssi on sisällöiltään sama, kuin alkuperäinen, mutta kurssikerrat ovat keskiviikkoisin (15.4., 22.4., 29.4. Ja 6.5.). Infot lyhyesti (lisäinfoa ilmoittautumislomakkeessa, löytyy biosta!): Kaipaako pyöräsi kevyttä keväthuoltoa? Vai haluaisitko saada vanhan, mutta rakkaan pyöräsi takaisin ajokuntoon? Neljästä sessiosta koostuvan Oma pyörä kuntoon-pyöränkorjauskurssin aikana tutustutaan polkupyörän perusmekaniikkaan ja siihen, miten pitää omasta pyörästä huolta miltei nollabudjetilla. Kurssi pyrkii luomaan hyvän pohjan oman pyörän vikojen tunnistamiselle ja niiden korjaamiselle kotioloissa. Kurssi on suunniteltu niin, ettei osallistuminen vaadi aiempaa kokemusta pyörän huollosta, pyrkien tarjoamaan hauskan ja helpostilähestyttävän paketin tietoa, uutta osaamista ja itsevarmuutta, joiden avulla opit pitämään oman pyöräsi pyörät pyörimässä! Aikataulu: 15.4. klo 17.30-20.30 Sessio 1: Pyörän osat ja niiden toimintaperiaatteet + yleiset vikatilanteet 22.4. klo 17.30-20.30 Sessio 2: Työturvallisuus + oman pyörän vikojen tunnistaminen ja huoltaminen kotikonstein. 29.4. klo 17.30-20.30 Sessio 3: Osien vaihtaminen, erikoistyökalut ja niiden käyttö, oman pyörän tuntemisen syventäminen. 6.5. klo 17.30-20.30 Sessio 4: Pyöränhuoltopaikat, oman osaamisen kehittäminen.
