ARTIST SPOTLIGHT 🗣️ Emerging from Djilang, @docsquared____ operates in the deeper channels of the dance floor where groove is subtle, time stretches, and detail does the heavy lifting. Their selections drift between stripped back house, rolling baselines, and dubby textures. Digging deep into their bag to create a unique experience on the dance floor. Stitched together with a focus on flow rather than flash. A sound shaped by curiosity and control. Patient, off-centre, and designed to pull you inward rather than push you forward Doc² is the collaborative project between Roka & Rust-e, formed through the shared appreciation of the unique sounds in dance music. They work closely in building and delivering unique and meaningful experiences on the dance floor through deep cuts and finding the groove in the nuances of the under appreciated. After Doc²’s recent performance at Luminous Festival and a steady run at local clubs and events. Expect pure class and freaky tunes setting the tone for the night!

A lot of the love this year landed on the stage and production, which meant a lot to hear. This year, a special few brought that space to life. Huge thanks to @jungleaudioau From the Funktion One’s incredible sound, to the way the trees were lit as day turned into night, it shaped the feeling of the whole weekend. And to @louistimlock for the build. A grand pillar structure that stood strong within the clearing, open and considered, complementing the natural surroundings while giving the dancefloor a place to gather. We’re grateful to everyone who helped shape this space into what it was.

Dear Luminous Family, A heartfelt thank you to everyone who was part of this year. When we thought it couldn’t get any more special, it did… and that’s exactly what dreams are made of. The community showed up in full. On the dancefloor, along the pathway, in the quiet moments in between, you reminded us just how strong the love and spirit of this scene really is. The openness, the respect, the shared energy… it’s something we don’t take for granted. A weekend like this may fly by, but it’s built on countless hours behind the scenes. To every organiser, volunteer, staff member, family resident, and friend who gave their time and care, thank you. This doesn’t happen without you. To the artists who guided us through it all, and to @jungleaudioau for delivering our most special production to date, we are all beyond grateful. We’re still taking it all in. Let’s get Loco at Locos! Come join us down at Barwon Heads for a night of rhythms, grooves, and vibrant energy on the open-air dancefloor. For this event, we’ll be supporting @totefreedom a non for profit aid initiative that assists Gazan families residing in Gaza and Egypt with direct financial aid. We’ll be donating a portion of each ticket sale to the cause. We’re thrilled to welcome selectors @dj_luv_you @docsquared____ @dj_kizard @ivanastarcevic who will soundtrack the night with non-stop flow from start to finish. Kohear is built on unity, bringing people together through music, movement and community. We would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung People as the traditional owners of the land on which we will gather. Rooted in Djilang / Geelong, @docsquared____ brings together two selectors with a shared love for depth, patience and low-slung groove. Roka has been steadily carving his own path, with recent festival appearances at Ballista and Strawberry Fields and a debut vinyl EP Dust Code landing via Esensual - a sun-kissed, hypnotic four-tracker that nods to early tech house with subtle unpredictability. His sets unfold deliberately, grounded in club mechanics while leaving space for character and restraint. Alongside him, Rust-e is known for deep crate-digging and mood driven selections that drift between tech-house, deep house and flashes of ’90s electro. Together as Doc², the focus is on immersion - long blends, dubby textures and chugging rhythms built for spacious sound systems and extended moments. Expect a slow burn, carefully paced and deeply considered.
