From May 7 to June 12, you can follow free dance classes at the Academy for Theatre and Dance in the heart of Amsterdam. The classes are taught by second-year students of the Docent Dans (Dance Teacher) department and are open for all dance lovers of all levels. No need to worry about your experience, all classes are beginner friendly.
Every evening, from Tuesdays to Fridays, there’s multiple classes you can follow (classes are already announced on our feed 💃🏽).

DD2 presents a new edition of 5 TIMES TO MOVE.
Starting on 7 May, we open the space for movement, exploration and shared experience.
We are 17 dancers, each offering 5 free classes in our own unique styles with different approaches, different energies and one shared love for moving.
All classes will be one hour and take place in the evening on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Whether you come to try something new,
to reconnect with your body
or simply to be in a space with others, you are welcome here!

Vanaf 7 Mei openen we de ruimte voor beweging, exploratie en samenkomst.
We zijn 17 dansers die elk 5 gratis lessen geven in onze eigen unieke bewegingsstijl.
Alle lessen duren één uur en vinden plaats op dinsdag, woensdag, donderdag en vrijdag avond.
Of je nou komt om te connecten met je lichaam, wat nieuws te proberen of extra training te hebben, iedereen is welkom !

Dance Beyond Ableism edition 2 is coming up in a few weeks!
3 days during which the program goes to Leiden, Amsterdam, and online! 3 environments for the practices of the performance group Domino and the Inclusive dance group ReDiscoverMe.
🌱Friday 13 March, Scheltema Leiden
11:00 - 12:30 “Rest first! Quiet Space” workshop with Nina Boas, Emilie Gallier and twelve Domino players. We will slowly build up and hold a sensorially diverse space within which we will then experience various forms of rest.
12:30 - 13:30 bring your own lunch
13:30 - 14:30 Hartfalen workshop with Domino after their last dance production exploring the themes of loss and grief
14:30 - 15:00 closing
There is a dedicated space for withdrawal from the group practice, a space for tea, and a studio space for the guided workshops. It is possible to attend the program partially

An accessible, inclusive dance and movement class in which you (re)discover and experience your body. Through dance, music, and being together, you work from your own possibilities, let go of what no longer serves you, and build greater joy and confidence in your body.

Let yourself be taken on a dance journey full of discovery, playfulness, connection, and musicality, guided by Janne Groen and in interaction with live music by Daniel Smit.

11:00 - 12:00 “Ready, Set, PLAY!” a movement playground where we will explore the possibilities our personal environment offers us to play with space, movement, and the creative power of play.

DD4 nodigt jou uit voor hun eigenwerk voorstelling Complementair!
Geniet van een gevarieerde dansvoorstelling vol creativiteit, passie, plezier, kracht en kwetsbaarheid. De afgelopen jaren hebben de studenten van Docent Dans 4 hun verschillende kleuren leren ontdekken en in deze voorstelling ga je zien hoe ze, net zoals in de kleurencirkel, complementair aan elkaar verbonden zijn.

Lo Que Nunca Fue
Een groots huisfeest waar iedereen klaar voor leek te zijn, verandert snel in een dans van spanningen, geheimen en onverwachte wendingen. Binnen deze grote groep reageert ieder op zijn eigen manier: sommigen met zenuwachtige spanning, anderen met open verwondering. Zowel de innerlijke onrust als de ontlading komen naar boven. Wat bedoeld was als een viering, onthult laag na laag van wat onuitgesproken bleef.

The ADD mind moves with an intensity that cannot be contained.
Neurons ignite in many directions at once; thoughts appear and vanish before they can be held. Anxiety follows this movement, seeking order where none seems to stay.
Yet when one observes—without forcing, without resisting—a different quality reveals itself. Within the restlessness lies a subtle clarity, a quiet strength that comes from seeing the mind as it is, not as it should be.
LimitADD dwells in an inner landscape where limitation and possibility move together, not as opposites, but as part of the same unfolding.

ECHOES
Echoes is een fysieke en emotionele zoektocht naar hoe we onszelf herkennen, verliezen en hervinden in een groep. We verlangen naar verbinding, maar voelen ook de druk om ons aan te passen of juist op te vallen. Wat gebeurt er als je probeert los te breken?
In intense, fysieke scènes onderzoekt DD1 de spanning tussen vrijheid en verbondenheid, tussen vasthouden en loslaten. Echoes toont hoe identiteit ontstaat in relatie tot anderen, hoe we elkaar aantrekken, afstoten en soms verliezen. Een kwetsbare en krachtige ode aan het verlangen om jezelf te blijven, te midden van het geheel.
