Sunny days in the motherland 🌞 #repost @vansvault The Vault by Vans x Dobale collection celebrates artistic expression at the highest form through color, silhouette, prints and details to tell an authentic story about Ade’s motherland. Layer by layer, each piece allows Ade to share his happiness with the world. The color palette of the footwear and apparel collection is derived from the sunny disposition of his home country, along with colors inspired by the rich foods, surrounding land and the Lagos State Flag. Each pair from the collection is built with UltraCush™️ footbeds and finished with custom checker foxing stripes, merging Vans’ heritage with Ikoyi street curbs. Complementing the footwear collection is an eight-piece apparel assortment that is carefully crafted with bright colors, and graphic elements inspired by African hand-painted signs and local iconography.

Dobale derives from the Yoruba language and simply translates to the word “respect”. The “Forever Sunny in Ikoyi” footwear and apparel collection pays homage to Ade’s hometown Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria. Each piece from the collection ties back to the sunny weather and vibrant culture of his motherland. Three iconic Vans footwear styles lead the collection with premium suede uppers in bold hues, while the apparel offering features colorful graphics and custom artwork by Ade across eight apparel and accessories styles.
