Starting over sometimes means getting rid of everything you idolised. For me, it was my hair and from I was a kid I was relaxing my hair until I met @morangocurls I believe in 2014 or 2015 (Irina help me out with the date 🤭). I am a type 4C hair girl and as a black girl I was never taught to love my hair and I didn't untill I met Irina Fortes. She helped me change my mindset about my hair and started treating my hair with the best care my curls needed. I have been her cliënt ever since and even my siblings go there. Can't wait to come back when my hair gets longer. So for my curly peopple, go check out the salon!!
Unfortunately, the relaxing came with a lot of damage ofcourse and it had affected my scalp. I also have some traction alopecia spots that were caused by allowing too many hands on my head, that pulled my hair out.
This in combination with not always nurturing my hair and not using the right products... well scalp damage!
I am now on a journey to start over, let go of the old and heal all parts of me that need healing. Therefore I made the bold decision to shave it all off. I have never done this in my life before, but @mayleehairco convinced me to do it and that I def won't regret it. She will be treating my scalp with the best care and make it healthy again. If you have scalp problems, I am telling you go see her work!
So, here I am... as vulnerable as I can be and as happy to know that at least my head has a nice shape🤭
I guess I can say 'there is a new baldie in town' 😎

🔥 Join us in this Afro Fusion workshop and get a taste of different African dances!
In this workshop, @dmemdanime will take us through the foundations & origins of some moves from Afrohouse, Ndombolo, Kuduro, Nigerian and Ghanaian styles. She will teach us the moves and then combine them in an Afro Fusion choreo.
After the class the floor of the studio will remain open for another hour so that we can all enjoy the after-class hype, dance and share together. Staying is 100% optional but it is a great way to build community and meet new people!
