This design is courtesy of @define_arts who is a talented tattoo artist, painter, and muralist if you have ever gone outside you’ll have seen his work around town. We love the detail of the paint dripping being the belt colors on the rash guard.
As always with limited edition sets, they will not be restocked and no guarantee of inventory if you don’t preorder.

Today marks 3 months of @blackrosejiujitsu . It’s been a huge success. Success means different things to different people. I want to share what it means to me.
I took these pictures at 8:10 on Thursday. Our last class ends at 7:30. People stayed to drill, to learn, or just to hang out. BlackRose is a place that folks want to be and to build a community together. You all are still in the gym 45 minutes later than you needed to be. That is what I think is success.
Thank you to the endless list of supporters in the Portland martial arts scene that got us to where we are today. Here’s to the next three months and many more.

Brought a little squad to @subleague this weekend and we all took home some hardware.
🥇 Gold medals for Braylee, Delanie, Emmett, Kyle & Professor Kevin.
🥈 Silver medals for Quinn, Logan, Emmett (x2) & Professor Kevin.
🥉 Bronze medals for Wesley (in his first competition!) & Quinn.
🏆 🏆 We also took home two fastest tap trophies, Emmett for teens gi & Kyle for adults no gi 👏🏼👏🏼

At our gym, we are proud to have a strong women presence, led by two of our assistant coaches, brown belt Brandi Oliver and purple belt Winter Hand. Key parts of our gyms foundation.
We wanted to brighten up our gym with a mural, and it was a no brainer to put them up on the wall. The painting and color scheme was based off our favorite brand, one Professor Kevin has had a relationship with for years, @albinoandpreto ; using two of their gis “Origami” and “Tranquility”.
The Origami gi that Winter is wearing, has a story of the Turtle & The Crane illustrated on the back. An old tale that is “a symbol of wisdom & longevity. The water pattern, also known as Wagara, resembles our journey in jiu jitsu, representing the unwavering determination of the art.”
The Tranquility gi Brandi is wearing, “represents the quality or state of being calm.” Something that is essential in the art of jiu jitsu. “The duo-tone ‘color blocking’ design symbolizes earth, trees and water.”
We couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out. Thank you @ollieillustrations , one of our black belts and Brandi’s husband, for the beautiful artwork. You have blessed our gym with a timeless mural.

Designed by blue belt and training partner @chrsgrdd , he describes his design as, "a wood cut version of the logo."
We are taking preorders for the next two weeks which is the only way to guarantee a set. We are going to do a very limited amount outside of the preorders. Our friends and trusted local supplier @asgard503 will be producing them. The cost is $60 each for the long sleeve top and shorts. DM us your sizes or come into the gym and let us know!
Part of the proceeds go towards paying the designer. We promise we'll never use AI or internet sourced designs for our limited editions - EVER.

The Young brothers and Braylee were our 3 competitors in Oregon today, Logan won double gold, Emmett won double gold, and Braylee took double silver. Super proud of them!
Shoutout to Coach @dldlux & Professor @ollieillustrations for taking the reins and coaching the kids today while Kevin & Winter competed in Texas 🙌🏼
Also, shoutout Braylee for getting the fastest submission in the tournament with an 8 second armbar!
