happy five-hundredth broadway performance to @maybehappyending ! i still can’t believe i finally got to share this with anybody at all— let alone these two overly-gifted mensches of the music team, John Yun and Eric Kang
The Maybe Happy Ending score requires a bit of cardio 💜

it was Bring Your Old Conducting Baton To Work week for me. this old buddy of mine (a precious gift from a Matilda family) hasn’t done a thing since its last performance in december 2016. found it in a pile of treasures that i’d lugged home from the Shubert almost exactly 9 years ago. brought it out of retirement, took it on a field trip to Power Station Studio A, where we made an album! and then we both went back to bed
Gil Brentley would be proud 💜

so grateful that @grammymuseum and the people of @maybehappyending gave me a chance to dip my toe back on the horse at this event on tuesday. i talked and played in public for the first time in years, and, although the lead-up to the event got me so destabilized that i couldn’t even discern the color of those leggings before pairing them with that dress, it ended up being a joyful couple of hours. i just loved finally being asked to share my thoughts about the actual music part of my job. being a grammy nominee hypes my mesolimbic dopamine pathway 🥰🥰🥰 First two photos by Rob Kim, whom i thank❤️
there were exactly four moments in october when i wasn’t working on emails. this is what they looked like.

july, august, september: three months in screenshots. haha just kidding; screenshots got rough when the online discourse (along with the reality) got rough in mid-july. instead, here’s a glimpse of my life as a traveling troubadour.
i meant this to be a story, not a post, so it would seem more like i didn’t care if people read it. haha. but instagram stories was being too unwieldy, so, oh well. here you are, (as i gave into said temptation to share my thoughts with the world), and, on i go with my day.
