As far as career moments go, this was right up there. After two decades, finally getting the shout to spin at Southport, and this happened. Forget all the noise for a minute and just look at those around me. Inspirations, titans, behemoths of music and broadcasting. LEGENDS staying up ‘til 6am to listen to ol’ stumpy here mix some soul records. Pinch me. Side note: These vids weren’t going to get shared. Moments like this are uncomfortable as hell for most of us. We’re largely just performing introverts in truth. But I’ve been told I need to accept my 💐 with chest so here we are. How am I supposed to improve on this on Saturday? @southportweekender @djspoony @shorteeblitz @ibzeurope ❤️

As DJs, we tend to say yes. If the date is free and someone is asking for our services, we say yes (within reason) and book it. 2024 was a year that I learned to entertain the notion of saying no. I tried to let go of things that didn’t feel good in my soul, and replace them with things that did. Alas, you don’t turn down work and expect to have more money in the bank. But so be it. Those events have been replaced with live streams, time to work on new ideas, or simply having time to do stuff for myself and my people. So what’s happened? I got to play the Royal Albert Hall man. You know how bonkers that is? The same building Sinatra, Hendrix, The Beatles, Mandela and The Dalai Lama graced. I thank @djspoony for trusting me. He also trusted me to curate the production at ‘30 years of UK Garage’ celebration at the MOBO Awards. I’d never done anything like that before, I’m so proud of it. We did some other cool stuff.. Smashing a sold-out Butlin’s TWICE and launching Back2Napa. We also witnessed another dramatic trophy win at Wembley. Our own little live music night has sold out a few times and the talent we have been able to put on our stage is insane. I’ve travelled the UK for amazing promoters, working with the finest DJs and MCs. Overseas, I’m still able to put new stamps in my passport, see places I’ve never seen, ‘cos someone somewhere trusts me to play music to their people. Switch is now Ayia Napa’s longest running club night. Read that again... Live streaming? It’s such a staple part of my life now. In August, we precariously perched ourselves on the edge of a cave, with no internet or power. Hit the front page on Twitch and a total of 81,000 people tuned in. Mad. In May, 50 DJs travelled from every corner of the globe to play records at Soul Train Live. What an insane sentence to write. Our community continues to grow and am I most proud of the countless friendships and bonds borne out of all this. Saying no to the odd thing, has given me a little bit more time to do cool stuff, well. It has garnered more joy than a little financial freedom could ever do. To those that helped along the way, Thank you.  Onwards ❤️

Oh, Atlanta 🩵 Let’s start at the end. The 5th edition of Soul Train Live was always going to be here.🩷 I was told in no uncertain terms after LA in 2023 and every year since.🤣 What can I say man? How do I possibly decanter the energy of that day into an insta caption? It was special man, magical, unique. An all-day record-breaking live stream and family linkup enveloped in the most beautiful energy. Hundreds travelled great distances for this celebration of soulful music. Certified GOATs, legends of music and DJing just rocked up, out of the blue. Tens of thousands watched online. My gratitude to all involved knows no bounds. But i want to particularly shout all the DJs and mods that took part, and a special mention to @iknowdjlv @lockandkeymedia @butecoatl @christinamousicos without whom this simply could not have happened. ATL! 🔥 Soul Train Live is coming Our global celebration of soulful music has taken us around the world, and after our linkup in Los Angeles in 2023, it’s time to come back 🇺🇸 The 5th Soul Train Live takes place on the weekend of 24th April around Atlanta culminating in the big event on 26th April at @butecoatl Hundreds of DJs, mods and community members will be floating around all weekend.
