In de week van Dilla's verjaardag én sterfdag eert DJ Turne deze vrijdag, 13 februari, de man die hij meermaals "the greatest to ever do it" noemde. In Hi-Fi bar @seveneleven.radio , verstopt in @radioradio.radio in het Amsterdamse Westerpark, zal hij iconische Jay Dee-tracks draaien in een extra lange set, en de entree is helemaal gratis.
Dat zal gebeuren over het sicke geluidssysteem dat in Seven Eleven te vinden is, dat Dilla's onmiskenbare pionierssound een nieuwe dimensie zal geven.

As for the wheelchair today, I started to try to walk. It's going to be a process, but with the help of my shorty, my girls, my mom and friends, we gonna be alright.

My dear friends! A few emotional words from the bottom of my heart.
As some of you know, the last few years have been heartbreaking and pretty wild for me and my family to deal with. This is the reason for my absence on social media and in the booths near you. I can't get into it that much and don't want to, to be honest. I just want you to know that my heart and mind have healed up over here, and I am ready for the future and ready to get back out there and do what I love doing most.
Me, my soulmate, my daughters, and my family are now in a much better place. A place we all deserve to be. We still have work cut out for us, but heck, who doesn't.
The future looks bright. I want to thank each and every one of you for sticking with me over the years.
However, last week, I was thrown another minor curveball...
I dislocated my ankle, broke my ankle, my shin, a part of my knee, and tore some muscles and ligaments in a bike accident. I have an operation on the 30th and will need some time to recover. But trust me, I will be back better and stronger than ever ever beeeyaaaatch!
