Laufey | Junia | Adam Melchor If you haven’t seen them yet then you are missing out on the humor of @laufey and @junialin . One of the funniest is when Laufey sings one of the songs from Tangled during Junia’s talk. This year is a pretty big year and she deserves it all. Grammy winner, soldout tours, performing back home in Iceland, doing a rare show in Manila with a full orchestra, opening for Mitski and a lot of more things on her path. The fans, they know every word, singing every lyric and giving gifts or showing their banners. I can’t forget Adam because he gave a performance and a part of Laufey’s ensemble on tour. If you know, then you know that they’ve worked together years ago on their song ‘Love Flew Away’ and there’s one more thing. Adam shared a video from last years Lowlands performance of ‘Noord Nederlands Orkest’ when the crowd started to jump, chant and mosh. That’s what Laufey’s crowd could be at the Hollywood Bowl. Her new single ‘Goddess’ is out now. #laufey #laufeytour

The Weeknd Shot for @oor.nl First of all I want to say thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. We appreciate everyone, we have a lot of love for everyone and thank you for being here wherever everyone is in the world. Who would’ve thought to be photographing @theweeknd on my birthday? I didn’t. He’s a legend in his own league. From the music he has created and a catalog that has been in many conversations for years. There’s a lot to say about him because he has worked with his friends that worked on almost every project (Doc McKinney, Illangelo, DaHeala and many more), collaborating with idols that people couldn’t imagine and being on top for many years. His cover of ‘Dirty Diana’ is still one of the greatest songs because the dark production with the plucks between the breaks and his voice is flowing on the song. There are many more songs to mention but he’s touring with Kaytranada, a magician behind his production and DJ sets and an absolute goat Mike Dean. If you don’t know @therealmikedean , you have probably heard him with your favorite artist. His guitar riffs / solos are insane, his synths are out of this world. He can mix entire projects for a long time until it hits the right time. ‘Nightcrawler’ by Travis Scott, Swae Lee and Chief Keef. When Travis’ vocals start and the synths come to play. The ending of the song when more elements are added to the synths. It sucks that we couldn’t shoot his set but he’s a beast on stage.

S10 Shot for @oor.nl I had many drafts of stories in the back of my head because how could @s10s10xx top another year? She had a great club tour, entered Eurovision, major festivals and preparing her latest album ‘Ik Besta Voor Altijd Zolang Jij Aan Mij Denkt’. This year she went for another homerun. Building her new setlist and musical direction for shows / festival season, winning awards, being on the same line-up as one of her favorite artists this sunmer and performing in a soldout AFAS Live. With a new direction, there are familiar faces and new members to add to the team. Her longtime producer and friend that has been there in the beginning with the craziest edits @simfane . The shredder behind all kinds of instruments who went on tour abroad and goes back on tour again with Rimon. @micklangenberg is another key member and became S10’s musical director for setting up an amazing show. When the gears in his mind are turning, they are working overtime wherever he is. In addition to the brand new set, there are two members to add in all the action. They are @isaireiziger and @joeldieleman . You probably seen Isaï before. Especially Goldband and when they see one of the two acts perform, thebphotographers are raving about him for his insane talent. If the eyes aren’t on the main act, they are focused on him. Joel has worked with many names in the industry. I’ve mainly seen him performing with Naaz and Willem. Now he shares his magic behind the keys with S10’s team. All aboard towards festival season.

Freddie Gibbs Easter Sunday Service with The Last Rabbit Brussels went extra hard last night and pulling up with all kinds of projects on vinyl. Thank you @maximrobin and @balconyjd for always having me. This was extra special because I haven’t seen JD since 2017 and always great to see him doing good, pulling up on basketball courts and finding snack gems. It was also a surprise to meet @robin__velghe who is behind @rhymezlikedimez and ‘Why Lawd?’ by NxWorries is one of my favorite artworks to be printed on vinyl. Baby Rose and Biako saved the best for last because thank you to Baby Rose, Biako and the entire team. Having an intimate setting on the big stage and such an amazing voice / sound from them. The last time that I’ve seen Baby Rose was opening for Snoh Aalegra in Melkweg Amsterdam in 2019. She has also worked with some of my favorite artists and one of them are BadBadNotGood. If you aren’t familiar with Biako’s game, you’ll never know when or where he could pop up on projects or tours. His tour diary / vlogs are a great watch and seeing him link up with familiar faces that are his friends / fellow collaborators. Thank you again for having me, a lot of blessings to everyone and until the next tour. They are the first polaroids of this year and there are more to come.

Whenever Thundercat rolls around, I can’t forget to mention @pbdy because he knows what Thundercat can pull off on stage. If it is Rick Owens as his outfit or the setlist that doesn’t exist because everyone flows with each other and giving them their space to shine. New album titled ‘Distracted’ is coming out on April 3rd.
