So much to be excited about this year. 2020 was a weird one for all of us, but I’m happy to be ending it on a high note. I’m working on projects that I’m proud of, with people I respect and trust. I’m continuously putting myself in situations where I’m forced to grow, move forward and learn.
I honestly still suck at a lot of things, but I suck a lot less than I did last year, and that’s a win.
This project was dope. These people are dope, and these headphones are ....also dope. Thanks for tagging along on this wild journey. Channeling this rooftop energy till this weird ass year is over.

This week sony sent the @artofvisuals team out to New York to celebrate the release of their newest camera - the A7RV. The level of quality in the photos is insane. Stoked we got a first look at the camera, and grateful to be a part of the @sonyalpha fam 🤌🏽
Hey, it’s me, DJ! Just wanted to introduce myself to my new friends and update the OGs. I moved to LA from Idaho a couple of months ago to build my dream loft, apartment, and content studio. I’ve always wanted a space that feels like a creative sanctuary where ideas come to life, where people can collaborate, learn and make things (music, art, photos, videos, food etc.).
The loft is far from finished and definitely rough around the edges (just like me), but so it goes. Some things haven’t turned out exactly how I planned, but most things have turned out better. I took some time off from everything to make sure I had my home base figured out, and currently I’m feeling recharged and better than ever.
Thanks to everyone in LA for being so welcoming and cool, and to all my Idaho and other peeps I miss ya 🥲
pure joy.

Every trip’s got a theme, a through-line, something that sticks with everyone there. I’m fresh off an assignment with @ruja_org in Uganda, and I can say without a doubt the theme of this trip was pure joy.
It’s grounding, it’s overwhelming, and no matter how long I go between visits… it hits me right in the feels. I came to Uganda thinking I was here to help, to serve in some way. And like every time before, I left feeling like I received more than I could give.
God is good, and He’s moving in Africa.
Thanks Ruja for all you do, and thanks @maf_us for getting us there safely.
It never rains in Southern California.
At least that’s what the postcards say.
The streets and the trees never washed clean,
just bathed in perfect light,
baptized by sunsets that blur truth and beauty.
The sun through the smog paints everything gold,
blurs edges, hides sleep
(because Lord knows we’re not getting any).
Here, beauty is a habit.
Perfection, a mirage that glows,
but only long enough to make you chase it.
We build dreams out of drywall and warm light,
and for a moment, we believe in them.
Maybe perfection isn’t meant to be kept.
Maybe it lives
in the moments between golden hours,
a life lived in between call times.
Somewhere between the noise and the light,
you start to see it,
the way beauty shows up
when you stop trying to control the frame
In case you forgot
Protesting isn’t a crime.
It’s one of the most patriotic things we can do.
In case you forgot
Every day we pledged allegiance to a flag
that promised liberty and justice for all.
(some of us are still waiting)
In case you forgot
You taught us that Jesus loves all the little children of the world
and yet you’re quiet while their families are torn apart.
In case you forgot
This country was built by immigrants.
Every thread of our culture is borrowed.
In case you forgot
We’re strongest when we’re united.
That’s why they keep us divided.
In case you forgot
This country’s greatness isn’t in its power.
It’s in its people. All of them.
In case you forgot
The First Amendment wasn’t made for easy conversations.
It was made for moments like this.
Just In case you forgot
We haven’t.
Lately I’ve been tracing the lines back to where I started. Idaho country. Dirt roads. Mountain air that raised me slow and steady.
Out here in LA, cowboy hats are curated.
But back home, they’re lived in, creased by heat, dust, and years of showing up, not showing off.
Where I’m from, workwear isn’t an aesthetic.
It’s an inheritance.
Passed down like stories told by the fire or in the bed of a truck. (Or in the back seat)
There’s a tenderness under the grit.
A softness behind the brim.
An honesty that doesn’t announce itself.
No matter how far I go,
the West comes with me.
light finds you when you least expect it 🇳🇵🇳🇵
