I get emotional even writing this because, when I played this gig exactly one year ago, my mom was in the ICU that same morning... ❤️🩹 No sleep, no energy, just faith and resilience carrying me through… Now here I am a year later, same gig, but in completely different and better circumstances.
I thank God for this gift and for the chance to share it with you all… 🙏🏾✨
It’s been a year since I solo-produced an event, but over the past few months I’ve felt deeply called to bring this to life. As a first-generation Colombian and Mexican in this country, I feel an urgency to do at least a little of what I can by utilizing my passion for curating.
On May 28th bringing New York friends from different cultural backgrounds from all boroughs to come together as one to raise funds for families that have been displaced by ICE.
Chose a local community venue that allowed me and gave me a space to curate when I first moved from uptown to Brooklyn. A space that I always see my people come together to also curate or release through community & dance. Thursday, May 28th “We are one” will be at Rebecca’s at 9pm.
Ticketed donations will 100% go to chip in for the cause to support our people because if we all do a little a little can go a long way 🤝
Donations will go to @immdefense a nonprofit that provides legal support, advocacy, and fights to interrupt mass deportation.
