Around 2006 I entered a DJ mix contest called Next On The Decks judged by
@iammarkronson in collaboration with BPM Magazine & Rockstar Energy Drink. Then prize was, among other things, a trip to Miami during Winter Music Conference to open for Mark Ronson at Mansion, as well as going on a multi-city tour with Mark opening for him at venues around America. I woked really hard on a 30 min mix, sent it in, and kinda forgot about it.
When I got the call from
@mattaveli &
@iammarkronson saying I won, I thought it was a prank and they were kidding. I was actually having a conversation with my Mom at the very moment they called debating if I should continue trying to be professional DJ, or “get a real job” - Well, the answer became clear at that moment 😆
Within a week I was at LAX Nightclub, owned by
@djamlives , opening for Mark at the BPM magazine party (I’ll post pics in my story that
@mushedroom sent me) and then on my way to Miami.
That gig in Miami was life changing for many reasons and such a great memory for me. So when I interviewed
@kaskade recently and he told me he was at Mansion in Miami and saw me open for Mark Ronson and DJ AM, my kind was blown 🤯
