We all need to heal.
The world needs healing.
Let this be your reminder: healing is possible. Through our words, our thoughts, and our actions, we have the power to restore ourselves gently, intentionally, and in our own time.
If you’ve started your journey, keep going. If you haven’t, this is your sign to begin.

It’s Time for Africa: The Rise of the African Director in Global Cinematography
By Deji Ajose-Ojikutu
For too long, Africa has been seen in global cinema as a backdrop—never the protagonist. Our cultures were reduced to scenery, our stories filtered through someone else’s lens. But that tide is turning Fast. Today, African directors are stepping boldly into the global frame—not with imitation but with vision, With voice, With truth because the director is more than a technician. The director is the heartbeat of the story. Think Spielberg’s Schindler’s List—a deeply personal take on history, told with empathy and cinematic verve. Or Scorsese’s Goodfellas—a riotous dive into Italian-American life that became iconic because it refused to water itself down.
Those films became classics because they embraced cultural specificity. Not despite it.
Now, Africa is doing the same—and doing it with fire.
Our stories are rooted in oral tradition, spirituality, myth, trauma, laughter, and community.
Our structure might differ and doesn’t follow the Western blueprint—and it shouldn't. Our silence speaks. Our rhythm moves. Our films breathe in ways the world is only just beginning to notice.
This isn’t just a moment. It’s a movement.
From Mami Wata to Eyimofe, from Nairobi to Lagos, a new class of filmmakers is saying to the world: “We are not here to catch up. We are here to take our place.”
And so, with deep pride and excitement, I introduce to you our latest contribution to this rising wave:
🌟 VANCOUVER — a short film rooted in African identity, yet universally resonant.
It has had 8 International film festival Official selections, 3 nominations for best short film and 1 Award for best short film so far. This is proof that our voices, when given the room to speak, echo across continents.
This film is for the dreamers. The displaced. The hopeful. The ones still finding home.
🎬 Africa is not the next story. Africa is the story.
📍 Vancouver is part of that story.
