@djmac__ is becoming the architect of a movement in dancehall driven by the trap-fusion riddim. Following the success of the WYFL Rhythm compilation album with Crash Dummy in Jamaica and the Caribbean, the young producer is now celebrating a major career milestone after the project peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Reggae iTunes chart. In an exclusive conversation with World Music Views, Mac opened up about his Billboard ambitions and how the “What You Feel Like” (WYFL) wave evolved from a local song into an international cultural moment. Clearly energized by the achievement, described the success as bigger than anything he initially imagined. “It’s a good feeling, bro. More than just on a local scale, it’s continental, worldwide, global now than just where it started locally,” Mac said. More on WMV! Link in bio.

DJ Mac and Crash Dummy’s viral WYFL Riddim continues to make waves globally, as the full project officially debuted at #2 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Albums chart following its release on Friday. The 45-track compilation is built entirely around the now-viral WYFL riddim, which first exploded through Skippa’s hit track of the same name before evolving into one of dancehall’s biggest crossover movements in recent times. The project brings together a wide range of voices from the new generation to legendary acts, including Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Buju Banton, Spice, Wayne Wonder, and many others. The riddim’s impact has also expanded far beyond Jamaica, stretching across the Caribbean, New York, and international markets, with contributions from U.S. rapper Fabolous and other overseas acts. Its growing global influence was further highlighted after The Joe Budden Podcast - one of hip-hop culture’s most talked-about platforms - recently gave the riddim a shoutout, underscoring its reach beyond Caribbean borders. #kaboommag #kaboommagazine

DJ Mac and Crash Dummy’s WYFL Riddim has extended its chart dominance into a major international breakthrough, debuting at No. 2 on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 Reggae Albums Chart. The milestone arrives as the already widely discussed 45-track project officially drops its full album release, further amplifying a campaign that had been building momentum across digital platforms since earlier in the year. The WYFL Riddim is not new to chart success. Prior to the album rollout, the project had already registered strong performance across streaming and trending charts, including notable visibility on YouTube and regional reggae rankings that positioned it as one of dancehall’s most closely watched compilations of 2026. This latest iTunes achievement now pushes that trajectory firmly onto the global stage.
