Over the years, I’ve had the chance of playing a few downtempo sets. It’s probably my favorite genre I don’t get to play often enough.
There’s something so magical about slowing down the music. It gets even groovier and every note shines on its own.
For years, I’ve been trying to get my favorite downtempo producer to Charlottesville, @iorie . In my honest opinion, he’s one of the most raw and authentic producers in the world, and his voice is unparalleled. @anyasatya and I often get goosebumps when we listen to his tracks.
I’m so happy that I get to open for and share @iorie ’s sound with our community this Saturday.
I’ll also be joined by another local DJ @b.helixmusic who is also a master of downtempo in his own way.
My set is at 7-8 (right as sunset begins).

Iorie (@iorie ) is a Berlin-based producer, live act, and DJ, known as a pioneer of Downtempo and Slow House. With groovy, soulful tracks like “Golden Spree,” “Kiss,” and the genre-defining “What is Downtempo?,” he’s toured globally and played at festivals like Fusion, Melt, Wonderfruit, and Envision.
This is Iorie’s Virginia debut and the first live performance hosted by Sounds of Love. Set to the backdrop of the sunset and mountains.
He will be joined by two local downtempo lovers, @djcopavida and @b.helixmusic .

Sean and I started throwing events in Charlottesville in 2019 together…. Beginning with “Super Social” (for those who remember those days 😉) House music was virtually nonexistent in town at the time.
A few dozen parties later, co-founding Sounds of Love, INSANE b2b’s…. Bringing artists like OMRI., Shai T, Newman (I Love), Eli Fola, etc etc to town… I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together and most importantly, our friendship.
Sean moved to NYC recently 🥲 so we’re not exactly sure how many more b2bs we will do in the near future. Our next one is opening for Gab Rhome on June 21st. We hope you make it and celebrate this moment with us!
