Ten years ago (!) me and yer boy @djcheeba put together a classic hip-hop mix called Return To The Boom Bap for Solid Steel radio, mashing up a boat load of rap acapellas and dope beats from the Golden Era.
It was so much fun we broke it all down and reworked it live on four decks with big screen videos on tour for anywhere they'd have us.
The full mixtape can be found online on Soundcloud and Mixcloud, so search it out if you've got a fever for the flavour.
Not sure if we ever made a full length video version for the YouTubes – Cheebs? (If not, and you have a spare three weeks, whip one up, yeah?)

Bigup to @djcheeba and his crew who took the original score of the 1979 cultclassic The Warriors and remixed it with their own beats. So dope to watch this being performed live and hear the insane dedication and creativity they put into this using all the original samples and music from that era. Long-standing legends of Bristol’s DIY music scene @official_laidblak will also be performing, as well as the city’s own glam-pop star @emilybreeze66 and a full show with live musical score from @invisible.circus

This weekend marked the grand opening of Church House in Long Ashton, our fantastic new home for Holotronica. We opened our doors at 3pm for the Long Ashton community to come enjoy a mince pie, a glass of mulled wine and see what we do here at Holotronica. They were thrilled by our Hologauze holographic effects, pinball and arcade machines! In the evening we hosted a private party for friends of Holotronica to come and celebrate with us with AV performances from the Holotronica team.
Church House is a beautiful, building built in 1908 by the Smyths of Ashton Court for the Long Ashton community. A large three storey building with multiple self contained studios for rent. There is also and a large 15m hall with a stage available to hire. Church House is an exciting new chapter for Holotronica, a vibrant creative hub for industry professionals and all set to return as a welcome community asset for Long Ashton and Bristol.
