Bodyguard mode: activated. 💪This male cuttlefish is doing what he does best — fiercely guarding his chosen mate from rival suitors during breeding season.
In the wild world of cuttlefish courtship, it’s not just about flashy displays it’s strategy, stealth, and serious dedication.
Drifting into the quiet of season’s end. The cuttlefish have romanced, dazzled and disappeared once more — leaving behind only ripples and wonder.
Endless thanks to @nathan.godwin for capturing the magic in motion, your lens brings peace, beauty and the deep stillness of the sea to life.
Until next time, gentle giants 💙

✨ “Exceeded my high hopes and expectations!!!” ✨
Rebecca had been dreaming of snorkelling with the Giant Cuttlefish for years and we’re so stoked we could help make it unforgettable!
From expert guides (shoutout to our favourite Belgian 😏), to quality gear and flexible plans, we’ve got you covered. Here's what Rebecca had to say:
"Our guide was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All the gear was in great condition with a friendly team to help us get kitted up and ready to snorkel. The weather forecasts weren't great but the team were fantastic with communication and a back up plan (which we didn't end up needing, the weather held out for just the right amount of time).
We also didn't feel rushed to get out the water and could enjoy our time to the fullest. Coffee from the on-site van was great too. Thanks Why Dive and our Belgian tour guide!"
Come see what all the fuss is about, start planning your road trip next season! 🐙💜

Scuttle and the team have had a very busy week meeting with desicion-makers down in Adelaide, bringing the voices of the SA dive community into the conversation on the ongoing algal bloom.
We shared stories and insights gathered from divers, tourism operators, and coastal communities across the state, ensuring those on the frontlines are heard where it matters most.
A huge thank you to @mannykatz.au from @divewhyalla and @eyrelab for joining us as a regional dive centre representative and contributing valuable insights to these important discussions!
And to all the leaders and industry representatives who met with us…
Susan Close, Deputy Premier of South Australia
