We left feeling energized, informed, and proud to see the meaningful work being done to uplift our community.
It’s an honor to witness firsthand the positive impact taking shape here in Venice and beyond. I am grateful to everyone who made this trip so educational, memorable, and full of connection.
We had the opportunity to go onto the Jim Henson Studio lot, formerly the A&M Music Recording Studio built by Herb Albert, and originally built by Charlie Chaplin.
We had tickets to see Puppet Up, an uncensored adult puppet show that interacts with the audience. Brian Henson spoke about learning the art of puppets, Muppets, and working with his father Jim Henson.
The show is hosted and done in an improvisation style.
The puppeteers talent and wit are unbelievably gifted and talented. We all laughed so hard we cried.
This experience was something extra special and it was so good to laugh more than I have laughed in years. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.
If you have a chance, go. We had the best time.

In an attempt to reinvigorate the community at large with a sense of shared belonging to a rich historical culture, La Gente de Santa Monica city wide exhibition beginning August 22th, 2024, presented by Santa Monica and LA County practitioners, Curators Steve Galindo, Meghan DeRoma and Amelie Rancine @ 806 Projects in collaboration and with support of partners City of Santa Monica, Santa Monica College -Art Department, 18th Street Arts Center, Cheech Marin Center and SM Conservancy in celebration leading up to Latine and Indigene Heritage Month Sept 15th - October 15th, 2024.
