With Lock 5 at Paringa closed for maintenance, Tinny Rally organisers and crews got creativeโmigrating 78 boats with trailers and teamwork to keep the adventure alive.
Where thereโs a will (and a few trailers), thereโs a way ๐ค๐

Renmark recently played host to the first day of Wild&Coโs Legend Expedition Race 2026, with adventure racers making their way through the Riverland and on a multi-day journey down the iconic Murray River. ๐ช๐ผ
Day one saw competitors warm up with a short rogaine in the Border Cliffs area before paddling from the Victorian border downstream towards the Woolshed Breweryโexperiencing changing landscapes around every bend, ochre cliffs and wide-open skies. ๐ถ
Teams then transitioned to mountain bikes for the next leg, navigating their way through Renmark to the Berri Rowing Club, before trekking through to Loxton. ๐ตโโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐ฅพ A true test of endurance with the 7 day race taking in diverse river landscapes before concluding in Murray Bridge!

Creatively curated by Sherrie Axon and with the support of many creative hands, poppies are the enduring symbol of remembrance of the First World War with the flower commonly found in the battle fields throughout Europe.
Together with sprigs of rosemary, worn as a poignant symbol of remembrance and fidelity and traditionally pinned to lapels or medals, the poppy continues to represent a lasting memorial to those who died in World War One and later conflicts.

Local Tour Guide, Mick, seems have this guy on commission โฆ. perfectly positioned and posing each time he ventures up through the creeks and backwaters on his @Mick โs Creek Tour experience (tours available Wed - Sat each week).
Fun fact! ๐ The native reptile, know as a Lace Monitor (or more commonly- tree goanna) is Australiaโs second largest monitor lizard, grows to around 2m in length and can live up to 40 years!
Any idea how fast they run?? I think Iโd be back tracking pretty quick if I stumbled upon one!

The excitement is building for this Friday when machines of all shapes and sizes will gather on the Renmark Riverfront for Machine Mania!!
Local businesses, emergency services and Council have been busy getting their vehicles clean and sparkly for the event plus thereโll be visits by APFF mascot, Deefa the Dog and PIRSAโs Fruit Fly whoโll be wandering and entertaining the crowd throughout the day!
Coffee, ice cream and the Lion Club BBQ / Donuts will be onsite plus Childrenโs activities including a Machine Scavenger Hunt, Work Site Photo Booth, Giant Lawn Games and Facepainting ($) will be available.
Not long now until Machine Mania - Friday 17 April from 10am - 2pm with the first Machine Mania , flashing lights or engines will be operating to create an inclusive environment for all.
