Announcement:
Disco Dacha’s markets and showroom are transitioning entirely to sliding scale prices. I have been already de facto basically doing this, particularly with the Judaica. This Shabbat, Marty and I decided to be more intentional about this practice.
It is the Days of Awe when we contemplate our mortality, and fascism is getting increasingly and unavoidably very fucking real. We need to take care of each other.
The regime has announced recently they’ll be targeting and criminalizing human rights activism networks that have been a core part of my whole adult life. Tomorrow is not promised, and I’m not trying to hoard sources of dopamine.
I’ve never been good at capitalism. I owe my survival to mutual aid. I went to law school to be a refugee lawyer, did that for a bit, organized in different ways, got very sick on myriad levels, and @discodacha emerged as an interactive installation art therapy project where I could provide trinket-based community care in a way that was manageable with my illnesses. My first pop-up was a fundraiser for my dear friend who just recently escaped the genocide in Gaza.
It makes me very happy to share vintage treasures, especially with those who are being most directly targeted by fascist bullshit. The objects I find, live with, and share all relate in some way to spiritual sustenance and/or grappling with my life and trauma as a queer femme Soviet Jewish refugee.
Estate sales are a spiritual experience for me. I believe art and beauty will survive and can give us at least some solace from the ways we experience exile. I believe in beautifying the mitzvah. I believe in pleasure and play as inextricable parts of my relationship to gender.
If my vision resonates with you and you need a little break from the horrors, come visit my studio in Jack London Square or see me the first Saturday of the month at the @oaklandvintagemarket and pay what you can if something I offer will give you some happiness in these too heavy times.
With love,
Olga

Attention friends, DACHA will be closed on Sunday, May 31st.
Not because we’re taking a day off, but because we’re taking a day together.
From the beginning, DACHA was never meant to be just a restaurant or catering company. It’s one part of a much larger vision: creating spaces where queer people, our neighbors, our guests, and our team members feel safe, welcomed, celebrated, and cared for - while helping shape a more compassionate and community-centered hospitality industry.
The Tiburon Pride Picnic is an extension of that vision beyond our four walls and into the community where we live. It’s a chance to gather in the open air, celebrate Pride together, and create the kind of joyful, affirming experiences we want to see more of in the world. And this is only the beginning - we have many more community gatherings and experiences planned for the future (continuing with Queer Prom on June 12th!).
We’d love for you to join us.
🌈 Sunday, May 31st
🌈 1–4pm at Shoreline Park, Tiburon
🌈 1:30pm gentle yoga session
🌈 4:30pm after-party at Cinelounge
Expect beats by DJ Kirill, vintage finds by Disco Dacha, ready-to-eat picnic boxes at Caffe Acri, tarot by Sean Anomie, and more.
Please RSVP to the Eventbrite link in our bio and come celebrate Pride with us by the bay 💛
