Harsh noise and experimental sound overtakes the Black Lodge on Sunday, June 7. Disaster Sources and send+receive present the organic noise of Hermit, bisecting human voice and sounds of found, broken objects for over three decades. Supported by PCRV (Fargo, ND) and Winnipeg locals Barn Sour, Blanching, Haietlik, Arthur Canterbury, and Catholic Stare.

On Friday, August 8th, send + receive and Disaster Sources are pleased to present the scalding lyricism of guitarist Bill Orcutt, alongside peals of noise by Deep Grey and the magnetic abstraction of Hazel Fog.
The show takes place at Winnipeg’s hallowed Royal Albert Arms (48 Albert Street) and music starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are $30 and on sale now.

My main pal @peauboy and I are performing a collaborative Catholic Stare/Skin set as Catholic Skin on January 19 before I hit the road for a little while. Hope to see you there.
DS005: Slime Street - Séance
After a decade of floating in purgatory, Slime Street’s magnum opus, Séance, emerges in the form of a full length cassette on Disaster Sources, coinciding with the duo’s reunion at the Initial Shock noise festival in Montreal. Slime Street was born in the year 2010 when Dallas Kruszelnicki met Jon Vaughn upon relocating to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan from Brighton, England. The two immediately bonded over their love of psychotronic horror films, 4-tracks, blazing up, and counter-cultural music scenes, and began conjuring spine tingling, sludge infested, supernaturally psychotic soundscapes. Séance is a phantasmagorical snapshot of Slime Street at the height of their powers, created four years into their practice. Included in this definitive release are also live performances from the same era and the legendary lost gem, Slime Electronics.

As the organizers of Initial Shock, Taylor and I have curated an evening of dynamic noise to present with @suoniperilpopolo this year on June 20 @ La Sotterenea.
Hailing from British Columbia, THE RITA is one of Canada’s longest-running harsh noise acts, and one of the most respected in the global noise underground. Hyper-focused on the parallels between obsessive themes and sound sources (shark attacks, Eurocult films, contacts mics on nylons, stage makeup and ballet aesthetics, etc.), THE RITA is now joined by pantomime artist Lorelei to further emphasize these correlations. Local acts on the bill include HIGH GROVE (contemplative tape loops), JUTE (ice-cutting harsh noise), AXIOM (mnemonic industrial noise), and newcomer EYDEN ZHAO.
