First time I have an actual office! From today as writer-in-residence of @nias_knaw 🦉 with thanks to @letterenfonds and @atlascontact 📖 this year I’ll be working on a ‘natural science fiction’ novel on the future Amazon (working title “I Tree”), joining and hosting seminars among the many international scientific fellows in the humanities, exchanging knowledge and inspiration. 💚🐟 Looking forward to many enlightening moments on (non-)knowledge. With thanks to @lonnekevanderpalen for the photo of me and the mature and flourishing chestnut tree, who looks into the Forest Library window, where I’ve written most of the first draft of the book.

This is Grandfather Tree, somewhere in the quadripoint area of 🇨🇴🇧🇷🇵🇪🇪🇨, and it still remembers a time before any of these countries existed. It is so large you cannot see its crown. The generous Tikuna people from @hospedajekowapana were kind enough to take me on a trip to visit the tree. If you spend the night with the tree it will give you dreams. I’ll thankfully use these shared dreams for my next book. If it were possible to adopt grandparents I would want this tree to be my adopted grandfather. #tree #dreams #abuelo #amazon
