Third Avenue Chocolate Shoppe in the heart of Spring Lake, NJ 💕 It has been a beloved homemade candy store since 1989. Originally founded by Matt Magya, the shop was purchased by current owner Joyce Harris, whose connection to the store began long before she owned it. At just 14 years old Joyce worked at the shop and dreamed that one day she might have a chocolate shop of her own. At Lolita's in Westwood Cinco de Mayo was an incredible, fun event as it is every year! I was so deeply involved in ordering the Queso Fundido that I didn't even think of capturing the atmosphere! Throwing it back to St. Patrick’s Day at Bahrs Landing 🍀🍸 Stopped into Bahrs for martinis, fresh calamari, and delicious Yellowfin Nachos — and somehow had my own little comedy moment with the famous hard hat diver mannequin ⚓️😂 I accidentally backed into him, turned around, and for one split second thought he was a real person. After the mini heart attack, of course we had to pose for a photo together. Classic Bahrs Landing energy — waterfront views, seafood, cocktails, local history, and memories you don’t forget. We recently enjoyed a wonderful culinary experience at @samstablenj where Chef Sam Stymest treated us to his seasonal tasting menu. Included were starters of fresh baked bread, and Daikon. Then choice of Fluke Tartar or Baby Gem salad. Next was a choice of Quail or Carolina Gold, then the mains were a choice of Braised Pork Collar with trout roe/buttermilk/spring onions, Lion's Mane which is a nice vegan friendly mushroom dish served au poivre with golden potatoes, and Monkfish which was tender and flakey. Dessert was a choice of Rice Pudding or Caramelized Goat's Milk Ice Cream with brown butter oat crumb/rhubarb/roasted marshmallows/and white chocolate. What a delightful finish to an amazing meal. All plated so artistically which makes sense (his dad is a painter whose art adorns their walls). Special thanks to Chef Sam's staff for their warm hospitality including his mom, Deborah, and our server Maria who was attentive and amazing. Tip: make reservations in advance. They have very limited seating.
