Klop Klop
Identity: A Brightly Coloured Archive
A debut exhibition by @halfandhalve
curated by @anelisamangcu
Exhibition opening
21 June
14h00 — 17h00
17 Jamieson Street, Gardens
Under The Aegis, Cape Town
The body of work explores themes of identity as performance, legacy in community, and the evolution of artistic expression and craft amongst coloured people.
Klop Klop stands as both a visual archive and a critical inquiry into how artistic expression can be a language of both defiance and belonging.
We’ll be showcasing sixteen artworks alongside a documentary film, both of which exist as the foundation for a long term, multifaceted project that will anchor continued research, community engagement and the preservation of tradition.
Please join us in celebration - this Saturday, 21st June 🥁

I’ll close my eyes and see poetry on the dancefloor, secrets in my notes app, love letters scrawled on call sheets. I’ll hear the soft hum of a pc, the screams of a crowd, the dj blasting pop music.
