A year ago today, DIE BULLY DIE had its world premiere at
@sydfilmfest and won The Dendy Award for Best Live Action Australian Short.
Since then, DIE BULLY DIE has had a killer ride worldwide, screening at 25 film festivals around the globe and winning 3 Best Short Film awards, 6 Audience Choice Awards, 2 Best Screenplay awards, and 4 Special Jury Mentions, AND receiving a nomination for Best Short Film at the 2025 AACTA Awards!
Safe to say, we are BLOODY THRILLED with the year that was!
So, time for some HORRIFICALLY HUGE THANKS!

Thank you to our production team and every creative who helped us make this film what it is: a film that has struck a chord with audiences around the world and is spreading a hopeful message of queer joy overcoming queer trauma. You all helped make that happen.
Thank you to our incredible cast and extras who filled the screen with so much life and love for the project.
Thank you to our post-production creatives whose talents artfully made this beast of a short film shine.
Thanks to the film festivals which screened our little queer horror comedy and the fab audiences!

Thanks to our followers on here who have supported DIE BULLY DIE online by spreading the word that there’s a new queer horror-comedy on the block.
THANK YOU from directors and producers Nathan Lacey and Nick Lacey, screenwriters and producers Matthew Backer and Drew Weston, and producer Nicole Thorn.
To celebrate the year that was,
@kazom designed some exclusive retro DIE BULLY DIE posters, which get their rainbow on to not only celebrate PRIDE - HAPPY PRIDE Y’ALL - but to also celebrate Aussie queer storytelling conquering the world!
Speaking of Kaz, thanks for all your design help since day one of this Insta (excluding the official posters and tiles, which were designed by Nathan Lacey). Legend!
So…
What’s next for DIE BULLY DIE?
If we told you, we’d have to kill you…
