A WELCOME DISTRACTION is having its world premiere @viffest 2025!
We made this film over the course of one year, filming month to month. It was a true independent venture that was created by so many people in the Vancouver film community and it’s a love letter to the city and indie film. We’ve put our heart and soul into this movie and we can’t wait to share it with all of you.

For Dide Su’s birthday this year I wanted to pull something special together. I could recall some footage she shot in Türkiye back in 2023 and went about digging through her hard drives to find it.
While assembling the Türkiye material, I stumbled upon my old archive of BTS footage from Dide Su’s short, Just Me and the Dogs, and it felt right to me that these two things may go together.
Per Dide Su’s request, and in the spirit of Posting, I’m sharing it. Many familiar faces show up in it and let’s just say We Love You All ❤️

- realizing i don’t post a lot and most of my time this year was spent going from one place to another, i made new friends and hugged old ones, i had difficult conversations, i stood up for what i believed in, i pet rooney (like a lot), i remembered how bad at texting i am, i ate my first fried pickle, i got shortlisted at sundance labs, i came super close to a pelican, i listened to audio books with my grandma in türkiye, i made a feature film with my besties, i kept up with the news, and i played a lot of basketball and tennis and cribbage, you’ll let me know if i missed anything won’t you?
