Last week, my residency at @baantrok came to an end and I want to express my greatest gratitude.
In a world where time has become the most precious resource, the fact that people made time to come see me and my work means more than ever - all my friends and all the visitors, thank you for the heartfelt support.
And none of it would have happened without the Baan Trok team. They were there from the very beginning. Helping me find the thoughts and meanings that were scattered in fragments somewhere in my head, all the way through to the last day of the exhibition, always with warm words and steady support. Not to mention how easy and genuinely fun it was to be around them throughout the whole process.
This residency meant a lot to me. It completely shifted something, from being introverted, rarely leaving my studio, barely having visitors, to stepping into an open space and staying in consistent communication with people. That shift taught me how to enjoy thinking out loud and expressing my vision around my work. I loved it very much.
I’m back in my cave now, but I’ll keep going and bring the new ideas I found during this time along with me.🤍
#MakingMatters @kimchisuperpower@dhkpractice Dohee Kwon’s residency at Baan Trok Tua Ngork came to a close last Sunday.
It’s been a pleasure hosting such a talented artist, collaborating from the ground up and witnessing how screen printing can evolve into a tool for introspection.
We hope everyone who engaged with her practice, whether through conversations during the making of talismans, workshops, or simply stopping by the studio, got to feel her dedication and the significance of her practice as well.
Here’s a recap of how her practice activated our glass-wall residency space over the past month.

As part of Dohee Kwon’s (@kimchisuperpower ) residency, we explored the legacy print shops of Yaowarat, asking “Is spirituality the invisible force that keeps craft alive?”
We visited Kwong Fah Press, run by Uncle Thongdee, and Tong Siam type foundry, where the owner continues to guard a vintage type-block machine. Though their trades may no longer follow modern trends, both remain highly skilled and proud.
Through these encounters, Dohee came to see that spirituality in craft is not about intensity or focus, but about alignment. To be spiritually attuned is to be fully at one with your work, where the boundary between maker and making dissolves. These masters have not only preserved their craft; they have become the very spirit that carries it forward.

A quick recap of the week 2 at the artist residency @baantrok
I ran two workshops this week, walking people through my entire process: from selecting rocks for pigments all the way to making screen prints with them.
It was my first time leading a workshop(and with my shy tendency) so it was definitely a challenge - but watching people create together filled my heart in a way I didn’t expect and I can feel my heart wants more of this!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to come by this week. One last workshop is coming up on this saturday - if you want to join, please DM to @baantrok

A little archive of the first week of my artist residency at @baantrok
During the hottest days of the year, riding through the city, I could feel a strange mix of tension and excitement as Bangkok moved toward Thailand’s biggest holiday, Songkran. As the week eased into the holiday the energy of the city softened giving me space to turn inward and focus fully on my work.
Now that the holiday is coming to an end and the city begins to fill up again, I’m so curious and excited to see who will visit and what stories they will bring with them!
