#MakingMatters 2026 invites you to explore sculpting as a tool for capturing constant changes with our second artist of the year, Vayupad Ruttanapet (@vayupad ).
Born into a lineage of traditional Thai craftsmen (ช่างสิบหมู่), sculpting is instinctive to Vayupad. While he began within the family craft, he chose to pave his own path as an artist, combining traditional Thai techniques with Western academic foundations.
In this residency, Vayupad explores how a static medium, like sculpture, can capture the intangible and unsgraspable. He draws inspiration from “Phab Jab,” (ภาพจับ) the visual practice in Thai literature of capturing fleeting interactions between characters in motion.
Follow along to learn more about his practice before meeting him onsite at L3 Baan Trok Tua Ngork from May 30 - July 5.

Technique is one thing, but they believe that the foundation of a delicious cup is simply good beans, as Einar Hansen, Market Lane’s training manager, shares with us “Everyone can brew good coffee if the beans are good”.
Einar will be here with us until May 10. He will also be leading “3 cups, 3 stories”, a session where guests can chat with the Market Lane team while tasting three different coffees together.
