Last summer, Drama 3/4 was at Edinburgh Fringe with Cameron Murphy’s solo show, Role Play (winner of Best of the Broadwater at Hollywood Fringe 2024). It was in Scotland that we met Miray, Chandler and Jee, and saw their show, HARDLOVE. Based on a Turkish play and originally produced in New York, HARDLOVE is a modern-day Frankie and Johnny with some very sharp edges. It seemed a kind of companion piece to Role Play and we all found ourselves taking in the festival together. After a few shows and a few drinks came the inevitable, “You should bring HardLove to LA!” …And now, here we are!
HARDLOVE previews at The Broadwater Black Box on April 8 and runs for 6 nights through April 18. @drama34prod and @wearehightidefilms present UNBOXING, a new short film written by Suzanne Schmidt and Brice Beckham & David Fickas; directed by David Fickas; produced by Kaitlin Kelly; starring Suzanne Schmidt and Tyler Ritter; featuring the music of Coby Brown.
Tickets are $15 (with an additional suggested donation). The night will include live music by Coby Brown, art by Peter Winfield, raffle prizes, special guests and a first look at the short film, UNBOXING.
As we raise money for finishing funds and film festivals, we are also taking the opportunity to contribute to some organizations near and dear to our hearts. After the event, we will make our way to @theplungela next door to continue the celebration.
