It’s hard to find words to describe yesterdays emotions.
The crowd was overwhelming. It was great to have the support from @breastcancernow 🩷at all the cheer points. Having your parents, friends and loved ones scream at you to keep going was all the inspiration I needed to carry on.
My legs are in a lot of pain, but the entire experience was amazing. I wasn’t sure if I’d want to run another marathon again after yesterday, but now I’ve had time to reflect, I think I do. So long as it’s less hot. 🥵
I was aiming for a slightly faster finish, but the heat was exhausting, and I had severe muscle cramps from around 20k. Plus my heart rate hit 196bpm for a mile or two, so I thought it safer to slow it down and walk a fair bit.

That was unexpected.
Woke up in agony Monday night. After multiple tests, scans, and consultations, it turns out I had appendicitis. I’ve just got back from surgery and I’m loving the morphine. Can’t thank everyone at Pligrims Hospital Boston enough for whipping out that naughty appendix as soon as possible. Hopefully home tomorrow.

Anxiety is starting to kick in! I managed to find my name on the wall of 2025 participants at the running show yesterday, and just about ironed my name on my @breastcancernow vest. Not long to go. Bricking it.

I’m running the London Marathon in April to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now. My wife @laurafiddler3 , was diagnosed with Stage 3A breast cancer over a year ago. She’s battled through invasive surgery, chemo, radiotherapy and is now on about a million tablets a day for the next 5-10 years to prevent it returning. It’s been a difficult ride, but she’s stayed so brave, strong and positive throughout. It’s difficult watching her suffer when there’s nothing I can do.
I’m raising funds for @breastcancernow by running the London Marathon in April. I’ve reached my initial goal, but want to keep raising as much as possible.
I want to help researchers improve treatments, so that others in future don’t have to go through the same challenges that Laura has faced.

2024 was a pretty rubbish year. Since Laura’s breast cancer diagnosis, I’ve seen her power through all the surgery, therapies and treatments with positivity, even when it’s absolutely overwhelming and left her totally drained. She’s been through so much and is still fighting. I’m so proud of her. She’s the best x
