So thrilled to announce that the one and only Cynthia Erivo (Wicked) is playing our lead bad fairy in #BadFairies - our original animated feature film for @warnerbros - directed by Megan Dong (Centaurworld) &. Oliver Staphylas (Puss in Boots) with original songs by Toby Marlow & Lucy Moss (Six: The Musical) & score by Isabella Summers (Florence & the Machine). Release date 21 May 2027. So honoured to write the screenplay and work with this extraordinary talent. There must be some fairy dust in the air for this to be really happening.

Ridiculously honoured to make the @the.independent The Independent Pride List 2025 - LGBTQ+ people making change happen. So many incredible people on this list and so many more who I am sure deserved to be on it before me but am very grateful that my book Six Conversations We’re Scared to Have is making an impact and delighted and grateful to be included. Very sad not to make the affiliated Kiki as I’m in Perth working on my play but I will very much be there in spirit! Solidarity with my trans siblings on this list and those who aren’t and all their allies - today and every day.

It was SUCH a pleasure to be a guest on one of my all-time favourite podcasts, @theguiltyfeminist , live in London at Leicester Square Theatre a couple of weeks ago. I got to share a stage with a bunch of absolute fucking heroes: @dfdubz @rialina_ @carole_cadwalladr @the_nerve_news @danwhitlam and @geejayuk . We are living in terrifying times, particularly after last week’s election, and community events like this are more vital than ever. As Reform sweeps the nation, and as the far-right sweeps the world — with the help of tech bros who associated themselves with one of history’s most prolific p*dophiles and who built empires on the back of, in at least one crucial example, a misogynistic revenge plot against an ex-girlfriend — hope can seem woefully hard to come by. But the people I shared this stage with have an amazing ability to provide much-needed bright spots in bleak, bleak times. @theguiltyfeminist in particular has been amazing at relentlessly creating space for hope and resistance — it’s not an easy thing to do, and I’m very grateful for it. Being part of it for one night was a true blessing. If you ever need a bit of hope, get yourselves along to one of @dfdubz @theguiltyfeminist ’s Road To Gilead events. Thanks to all the Australians in the audience who made me feel at home. I love that we got to discuss democracy sausage sizzles xx
