At a time of global uncertainty, the 2026-27 Budget will support DFAT’s efforts to boost Australia’s prosperity, security and economic resilience.
This year’s Budget includes $60.5 million to sustain global consular and crisis services, supporting @Smartraveller to help Australians stay informed and safe overseas.
It also strengthens key partnerships, investing $33.2 million to deliver on the Australia–Indonesia Treaty on Common Security and $25.3 million to deepen Australia’s Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with India.
Australia’s global engagement is also advancing through the landmark Australia–EU Free Trade Agreement, opening access to a market of 450 million people, with $38.6 million to support implementation.
In our region, a further $550 million will be invested through the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific, backing high-quality infrastructure across the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
Together, these investments reinforce Australia as a trusted partner for security, prosperity and regional stability.
