#MirandaAndYolanda
Days before we opened Sir Floy Quintos’ “Angry Christ” in 2017, there was very little interest in the play. We had to personally invite people to our TDR just so they could get a glimpse of what we were trying to create. To our surprise, audiences showed up that very first weekend.
We found ourselves in a similar situation with “Miranda ♠️ Yolanda.” I understand where everyone is coming from—the world feels uncertain, and choosing to watch and spend on theatre may not feel like the most practical decision right now. And yet, with God’s grace, people still came.
For that, we are deeply grateful.
It’s been heartwarming to see familiar faces—those who have long supported Sir Floy’s work: colleagues from the industry, collaborators, friends, and audiences who have followed his journey through the years. In many ways, it felt like a quiet reunion.
At the same time, I’m especially thankful for those who came in not knowing what to expect. Times are changing, and so is the theatre landscape. The Filipino audience continues to evolve. You might think that after “Grace”, more people would already be familiar with Sir Floy’s distinct voice and style—but seeing new audiences encounter his work for the first time has been something truly meaningful.
Maraming, maraming salamat po sa lahat nang nakanood na ng “Miranda ♠️ Yolanda.” Thank you for supporting theatre in these times—for sharing your thoughts, stories and insights. From posts and reviews to personal messages, ramdam namin kayo. Some young audiences shared that it was their first time experiencing a Quintosian play, and that it affected them in unexpected ways. Others have even sent reflection papers that continue the conversation beyond the performance.
So I invite you to come and experience “Evening at the Opera” and “Ang Kalungkutan ng mga Reyna.” We offer something special—two plays, two queens, one legendary playwright, in one shared space and time.
If you’ve been meaning to return to the theatre, or are simply curious, this might be a good place to start. We hope you can join us and continue supporting Philippine theatre.

Excluding the open TDRs and preview, over 53,000 people were able to watch Newport World Resorts and Full House Theater Company’s SHREK THE MUSICAL. What a blessing it has been to be part of this ever-growing Philippine theatre community.
Thank you for laughing with us, cheering with us, and believing in this story. This production has been one of the most challenging—if not the most demanding—shows we have ever mounted on the vast NPAT stage. I owe so much to the many people who gave us a creative sandbox where artists are allowed to dream boldly, all in service of giving our audience a truly magical theatrical experience.
Creating a show for NPAT is never easy—for the creatives, the cast, and the entire production, backstage, and technical teams. It requires constant calibration, rethinking, reworking, and reimagining. I have always dreamed of ensuring that, no matter where you are seated, the experience feels full and complete. For that, I am deeply grateful for the trust of the Shrek The Musical family. Jumping off that cliff together—armed with trust, persistence, and hard work—has truly been a theatrical blessing.
This last weekend meant so much to me. Seeing audiences, young and old, allow themselves to simply have fun in the theatre—to connect in ways only live performance can offer—was incredibly moving. From kids jumping out of their seats, clapping and smiling, to children with Down syndrome joyfully imitating the actors and even the conductor. From kids dancing, running back after quick wiwi breaks, afraid to miss a moment, to parents staying by the side entrances, holding their children, choosing to stay because they, too, wanted to watch and enjoy. And to everyone who giggled when the characters entered the audience space—if only for a moment, we were all kids again.
Maraming, maraming salamat po. 💚💚💚
A truly meaningful Christmas gift—one that only theatre can give, to both its makers and its audience. 🎄🎭🎄🎭🎄

I know this thank-you comes a little late—three weeks after SHREK THE MUSICAL opened—because I had to jump straight into a series of special events right after the opening and gala. But despite the busy weeks, I wanted to make sure I said this:
Thank you 💚💚💚
To everyone who has watched Shrek The Musical, shared their moments online, sent messages, or penned their thoughts about the show—we are truly, deeply grateful.
This has been one of the most challenging shows we’ve ever mounted, but hearing your laughter and cheers, and witnessing the children’s gasps and reactions has been truly something special. It fills NPAT with a kind of magic that makes every ounce of hard work worth it.
Seeing people dressed as characters from the animation, lining up for merch, enjoying meals before and after the show, families and friends gathering, and kids running around with excitement—Christmas really did come early to Newport World Resorts.
More than 20,000 people have already watched the show. If you haven’t yet, I truly hope you can come and experience Shrek the Musical. Get your tickets now and join us for this joyful adventure. 🎟️🎟️🎟️
Watching everyone in the theater, collectively letting go—kids and adults sharing the magic of live performance—has been such a happy pill for me.
Thank you for helping make one of my prayers and dreams for this musical come true. 🎭💚🎭
Last night was our final run-through at the rehearsal hall before we go into tech.
I just have to say—this cast and crew is one of the most hardworking company I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. In just two weeks, we managed to stage and choreograph an entire musical. That’s no small feat. And in the past few weeks, we’ve been so fortunate to have the time and space to polish, explore, and grow together.
As we head into tech in just two days, we’re praying for the best—especially for health, safety, and strength to carry us through.
SHREK THE MUSICAL will be the sixth production I have directed on the NPAT stage—following “AHEB” (2018, 2019, 2023), “Buruguduystunstugudunstuy”, and “Delia D.” I’m eternally grateful to Newport World Resorts and Full House Theater Company for welcoming me into their home—with open arms and unwavering support from Menchu Lauchengco Yulo, Michael Stuart Williams Maro Garcia, the entertainment team, and the entire NPAT family. Thank you for helping bring our imagination to life onstage.
Come join us in the swamp! This show is for all ages—and all hearts. Come experience the joy of live theatre and let its magic wrap around you. Whether you're coming with friends, family, or flying solo, let SHREK THE
MUSICAL be a beautiful bonding moment.

SEE YOU AT THE THEATER 💚💚💚
Contemporary dance and dance theatre are often seen as Western concepts, but MARI
DANCE has proven that they can be deeply Filipino.
The strength, technique, and storytelling though contemporary are unmistakably local—fresh, bold, and daring. It’s non-cliché, essential, and free from theatrical
gimmicks. What you get is a beautifully arresting fusion of story, movement, urgency, and passion.
JM Cabling’s masterful style continues to evolve. There’s ballet, folk, and contemporary dance, woven together with a unique physicalization of both outer and internal sound. You’ll see everyday gestures—playful yet witty, and strikingly painful in all the right places.
I’ve had the privilege of watching JM, AL Garcia ( Jusko, I’ve missed seeing you perform!), Sarah Maria Samaniego, Abbey Carlos and Michael Barry Arbas Que dance since their days as dance majors. To see that same fire in these young dancers today—especially now, as they step into roles as mentors—is nothing short of inspiring.
Choreographers, dancers, and theatre ensemble members are often underrated. If only you knew the process and sacrifices they make to make every single moment work.
In the midst of a busy theatre season filled with commercial productions and the usual fare, give yourself something different. Give A DANCE A DAY IN A DANCE. . Watch it. Experience something truly unique.
Happy Closing to this unforgettable production! Sino mamimiss namin?? Si Deliaaaaaaa! 🙌🌈💖
Congratulations @jonathanmanalo , @nwr.musicals , @dextermsantos , @phipalmos and the rest of the cast and artistic team of DELIA D.!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL ❤️❤️❤️
