Day 6: Nandkol to Naranag. 13km
Went to sleep looking at the majestic Milky Way, and woke up to sunlight falling on Harmukh which made it look like a gold capped tooth!
Breezy meadows spotted with dandelions stretched out till it paved way for an excruciating 1.5 hour descend through the Pine forest. Almost at a 75 degree slope, the trail was of loose stones and rubble.
What a last day! KGL Treks ends on a really difficult trail. But the feeling of enduring it all makes you wonder at your capability to push ahead.
Big shoutout to my @vishwadhachander who pushed herslef through this one with a swollen knee. She inspires me in many ways but i just can't think of anyone else who is so resilient than this one!
Also, everytime I felt like giving up, I stopped and just looked around. The view made it all worth it.
Because Kashmir is a peice of Jannat.

Day 5: Satsar to Nandkol. 10km
Cotton candy clouds while climbing a boulder patch followed by steep ascend brought us to the Zaj Pass which had exceptional view of the twin lakes Gangabal and Nandkol. After descending on another tricky trail, few of us sat by the Gangbal lake where clouds were dancing so dramatically!

Day 4: Gadsar to Satsar. 11.5km
Indecisive weather, so poncho stayed on.
Crossed few out of the 7 beautiful lakes that give Satsar it's name.

Day 3: Vishansar to Gadsar. 16km
Walked along Vishansar Lake, crossed Krishansar Lake and up onto Gadsar Pass, the highest summit on KGL.
Soaked in the view of both the lakes from atop and again onto a tricky descend.
Crossed Gadsar Lake which has its own share of stories and continued to the campsite soaking wet in the rain that did not leave us for the second consecutive day.

Day 2 : Nichnai to Vishansar. 13.5 km
Had a pretty bummed out day with rains that started the night before and bacterial infection to bother the coming days.
Crossed the first mountain pass, descended on a slippery mucky slope, fell once. All in the rain.
But hey, Kashmir delivers! Just a small hike from our campsite was the beautiful Vishansar lake.

Day 1 : Sonmarg to Nichnai. 12 km
Steep ascend at flag off, scorching sun, a brief berch forest patch (the only forest patch we got till day 6) and a long walk along a beautiful stream. All through rewarding views of the mountians and the best company.
