Such an amazing 24 hours recently: playing Southern Life on @fallontonight with this band I am so proud of, with people I love so much, driving to Philly from there to celebrate the release of our album at midnight with fans and chosen fam.
I am so grateful to @sharonvanhalen for trusting me to create with her--and for her unflagging support both in and outside of music--and to @lou.tides , @jorgeandreishere , and @snakethegirl for being such amazing bandmates and cherished friends.
It means a lot to be received for who we truly are and what we are trying to represent, especially in these troubled times. I'm thankful for everyone who is helping to make this happen,
and for all those listening with open ears and hearts.
Love More 🖤
My new record, Solve/Coagula, is out today across all streaming platforms via @switchhitrecords and for purchase on bandcamp if you feel like supporting my work in that way.
Links to both in bio.
Please feel free to share widely.
A portion of sales will be going to trans rights orgs.
Love and solidarity 🖤
Hi everyone.
I just wanted to pop on here for a quick life update: I've been taking time off from working since January to have surgery, and to recover. There's a link in the bio to a fundraiser to help me pay bills during this period.
I am planning to be able to fully work again by the summer, and have a pretty open calendar for the year at this point.
I'm open to offers for playing shows and recording.
I'm also accepting new students for online lessons as of now. So please reach out if any of that's of interest.
(I'd be happy for word-writing jobs as well, my favorite activity lately besides making music and watching the NWSL.)
Please take care of yourselves and each other. We're all we've got.

Hi! Just checking in here to say I'm back from everywhere for the foreseeable future. This round of touring is done--which is a bittersweet feeling--and almost all in-progress projects have wrapped up or are on pause.
I will be free to teach and record more now for anyone interested. As for creative output in the next calendar year, there will be a couple releases of new music and at least one full length re-release of some older music. I am also aiming to write more prose and poetry in my down time. And, ideally, to play some heavier, politically-engaged music, cause my spirit needs the catharsis increasingly.
Please feel free to reach out with any sincere and appropriate questions about music stuff.
And please take care of yourselves and each other. We're all we've got.

@sharonvanhalen such an amazing artist ❤️ thank you for allowing me into your world for an unforgettable experience. An honour and a privilege to meet you and your band @devra_hoff@lou.tides@jorgeandreishere@snakethegirl Thanks to @mistletone for supporting such great artists touring Australia. At times like this we need to remember that music has the power to unite us, cutting through sadness and hatred by reminding us that, beneath our differences. We are all moved by the same rhythms and emotions. Taken backstage at the @enmore_theatre

Mark your calendars because you’ll be in Trouble if you miss Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory guest programming rage this weekend!
It’s been a whole decade since the New Jersey born, LA based artist first hosted the show in 2015, and this time she’s joined by her band The Attachment Theory following the release of their self-titled album, Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, earlier this year. The record marks the first time Sharon has written and recorded an LP in total collaboration with her band, and now they’re bringing that collaboration straight to the red couch.
Together they’ll be sharing a stack of their favourite music videos as well as clips that have influenced their new record, their careers, and their lives.
Tune in this Saturday from 10:30am and 11:41pm on ABC TV.
I flew to a different hemisphere a few days before tour to help celebrate another lap around the sun for one of my favorite hoomöns, @lou.tides . Glad we got to share a bunch of this year together again, playing shows and making work and being ridiculous. It is a gift to know such an amazingly talented musician/artist and (more importantly) such a wonderful, principled, and funny person, and good friend.
I'm happy we're not archrivals anymore (unless we are). 😈
Happy birthday Teeny ❤️🐬🖤
I just put a little two-song EP called Elegies up on bandcamp. They are songs of grief and transition, and it seems like as good a time as any to share them with the world. It’s obviously a sad and scary time, and so many of us our grieving for entire cultures, for our communities, and for our own futures. But hopefully in solidarity there is hope for a way forward, together. 🖤
@devra_hoff is reborn in @piss_mag shot by @thomaswspooner in Hyde park before shredding bass at her London show with @sharonvanhalen and The Attachment Theory back in March.
“I always have a lot of curiosity. What does it feel like to be just like fine in your own skin? I’m just too restless.”

A Las Barricadas was a popular Spanish anti-fascist anthem in the 1930’s, whose melody was borrowed from a Polish revolutionary song written by Józef Pławiński.
I have a new post up on my substack, part of a new series, Radical Practice, about the intersections of politics, magic and music in my personal practice. The first installment is inspired by this song. Please check it out.
I was playing this melody today with hope for freedom from oppression and a just peace, both in the years ahead and this coming weekend. Stay safe everyone. See you out there.
Love and Solidarity 🖤
